Personal History | Velekh was born to Turak and T'Stala in their home at Raal Vulcan. He was an inquisitive child of quick mind and strong emotion. Well balanced and eager to learn from the time he could read he was consuming literature with relish. He completed his studies and entered into the priesthood of Hakihr at Tinsha Temple. His passions for learning and all or nothing attitude towards whatever matter he put his mind to was frowned upon by the High Priest. However he was allowed to continue his studies. Time passed and he grew into a young man, the time of the Pon Farr gripped him and he went to the temple for the bonding ceremony. As the ceremony was to begin Shala spoke the words of challenge and chose a champion. Velekh in hand to hand combat slew the champion of his betrothed and dissolved the bonds of engagement between them. It was after this indecent that he redoubled his efforts to uncover the healing mysteries of the T'Shen a subset of the Hakihr priests. He took a wife named T'Damah who was happy to let him study and peruse the priesthood as one of the Hakihr. With in a decade he had earned the robes of a priest of the order and earned the title of healer. He continued his study focusing on the brain and the differing mental states and illnesses that the mind could suffer from. As his studies waned he continued to enjoy the writings of the great philosophers, taking in there lessons as much as he did the lessons of blood, bone and mind. As he toiled as a healer of both the spirit and the body he began to question his path. Was it logical to suppress all emotions? Would it not be far more logical to embrace emotions and learn to control them? As decades passed his uncertainty grew and he experimented with allowing his emotions to grow and be submissive to his will. He learned that with meditation and safeguards he could feel and not be overwhelmed. This new Revelation only served to deepen his doubt and within twenty years of taking up the robes of one of the Hakihr he announced to the High Master that he could no longer wear the title of Priest. When asked why Velekh told him that it was illogical for any being to denounce what makes them whole. It was no more logical to cut out one's own stomach than to cut oneself off from there own emotions. The High Master quickly branded Velekh as "vrekasht" or outcast and ostracized him from he priesthood and the temple. He was still a priest but none would allow him to service them for the taboo was to great. When the news of his expulsion from the temple reached the ears of his wife she sued for divorce immediately and Vlelkh did not protest the action. He felt released and free to do as he wished. Upon that instance Velekh moved to Earth, for where better to embrace emotion than among an emotional people. He left Vulcan with all the credits in his personal account the robes he wore as a priest and a sehlat cub. When he landed on Earth he chose a small green island to make his home. Once upon the vastly different emerald green land of Ireland he began to ply his trade as Healer and psychiatrist. As he did so he studied the works of the Irish myths and found he was drawn to the stories of the Tuatha De Danna. Vlelkh tested and was accepted as a Medical Doctor and psychiatrist. As such he began to learn the ancient tongue of the Irish Celts and devoured the stories of the Tuatha in there own language. With in a month after finishing the epics of the Irish people he changed his name from Velekh the outcast to Miach ap Tinsha in honor of the Celtic herbalist deity. When he changed his name he also bestowed the name of the Morrigan upon his sehlat which he shares a mental bond with. Miach decided that he wished to see the stars and knew that Star Fleet would be the best choice. Spurred by the daring tales of the ancient Irish he took to the Academy to earn his pips and follow in the spirit of the explorers. Once he graduated he was assigned to the USS Columbia where met and married his second wife one Doctor Kasia Catori. It was on the Columbia that he learned he had a daughter from his first marriage. He also learned that she was about to undergo an ancient Vulcan ritual designed to purify the mind of emotions. He returned to Vulcan and challenged the ritual, laying his claim as her father and taking her back to the Columbia with him. During the challenge he had to fight his father in combat. Miach attended the primary and secondary schools of Vulcan. Upon completion of those he took to the cloth and studied the healing arts at the temple monastery of Tinsha. During his time at Tinsha he complected his medical degree earning a M.D. as well as dual PhD's in Philosophy and Psychology. During his time on the U.S.S. Columbia he met and married his second wife one Doctor Kasia Catori. Upon being assigned to the USS Hood he was forced to take his daughter and leave his wife. They didn't reunite until they were both assigned to Star Fleet Academy Magellan Campus. There they lived for a year before they were both transferred to the USS Yamato where they reside currently. Also due to the fact that he does not suppress his emotions like most Vulcans he wears gloves at all times. For if he were to brush another person his mind would seek them out and the side effects from that would be less than enjoyable. After serving on the Columbia Miach was transferred to the USS Hood as the Chief Counselor where he served for two years. Upon being promoted to Lt he was transferred to the USS Mamagal's Hope as the lead surgeon for that ship where he served for six years. He was tapped to serve as Professor of Philosophy and Applied Ethics in 2380 at Star Fleet Academy where he served for five years. He was then transferred to Star Fleet Academy, Magellan Campus as Professor of Philosophy and surgeon where he was given a promotion to Lieutenant Commander. He served at the Magellan Campus for five years until being reassigned as Chief Councilor onboard the USS Yamato where he served for four years. He was promoted to Commander and made Assistant Chief of Star Fleet Medical, Head of Surgeons at Star Fleet Head Quarters where he served for two years. |
