Personal History Alam-ira-xaval Sovalix, known as Mirax (pronounced 'Meer-Azh) was born as a scion of a lost age, while technically a cousin of the sitting Emperor (the figurehead of the Constitutional Monarchy after Fenria joined the Federation), the truth was that the power the family held once had faded long before. Wealth was never a factor and she, along with her nine siblings, had the best education possible. Mirax was always a rather independent creature, constantly going out on her own adventures in the wild on her own.

Mirax entered Starfleet Academy at age eighteen with a fierce determination to understand the galaxy’s living systems. Her instructors quickly learned that Mirax’s sharp instincts and keen observational skills made her a standout in xenobiology and astrobiology courses. She excelled in field exams, often identifying biosignatures or behavioral patterns long before her classmates noticed them. Though playful and flirtatious off‑duty, she maintained strict discipline in her studies, earning commendations for her research on predator‑prey ecological dynamics across variable gravity environments. By graduation, she had already published two Academy‑recognized papers and was a name recognized in the Science world.

Her first assignment took her to Kalyra’s Reach, a young Federation colony built on a world rich with bioluminescent flora and complex nocturnal ecosystems. Mirax spent four years there cataloging native species, advising on safe settlement expansion, and developing chemical‑ecology protocols to help colonists coexist with the planet’s territorial megafauna. Her ability to read subtle environmental cues — ear twitches, tail shifts, instinctive posture changes — saved multiple survey teams from dangerous encounters. While she was there, the USS Perseverence came to visit and she met it's Caitian Commanding Officer, Commander Ka'rek during one of his jaunts in the woods and during the week he spent on the planet, she became attached to him. She earned her promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade along with a reputation as a scientist who you could trust her intuition because she used practicality along with research for her decision making.

At age 26, Mirax was assigned to the USS Resolute, a long‑range exploration vessel operating along the Federation’s outer borders under the command of now Captain Ka'rek and while she was only a junior Lieutenant, she re-made his acquaintance after a while. The ship’s dual mission, surveying uncharted systems while supporting post‑war planetary recoveries, demanded both scientific precision and empathy. Over four years, Mirax became a cornerstone of the Resolute’s biological and ecological response teams, often leading efforts to restore devastated biospheres. Her path and Ka'reks crossed intermittently at first, but a shared sense of duty and curiosity drew them closer, beginning a relationship that would shape the next decade of her life.

Her next assignment placed her aboard the USS Vigilant, a Galaxy‑class starship dedicated to disaster response and humanitarian relief along the Federation frontier. For five years, Mirax worked amid crises, planetary quakes, refugee resettlements, and epidemic containment , earning her promotion to Lieutenant. The Vigilant’s long missions tested every facet of her resilience, yet they also solidified her bond with Ka’rek. During this time, the two became a mated pair, their partnership balancing her scientific insight with his tactical pragmatism.

Afterward, Mirax accepted a two‑year planetary assignment on Haven’s Landing, serving as an ecological specialist during a period of atmospheric instability. Separated from Ka’rek for the first time in years, she poured herself into the work, restoring pollinator populations and rebalancing the colony’s fragile ecosystem. The solitude refined her focus and reaffirmed her dedication to the Federation’s humanitarian ideals.

Returning to the USS Vigilant, now as Chief Science Officer, Mirax resumed her frontier work for another three years, working with the crew to handle large‑scale disaster recovery efforts and mentoring younger officers. Her leadership style, calm, transparent, and emotionally attuned, earned her recognition across the region and served as a complement to her flag officer mate.

Her most recent posting brought her to the USS Ecliptica, a Sovereign‑class starship tasked with high‑priority humanitarian operations and planetary evacuations. As a Lieutenant Commander, Mirax oversaw xenobiological and ecological response teams during crises that spanned entire systems. Alongside her husband Ka’rek, she participated in official government functions, representing Starfleet’s scientific corps with poise and compassion. Their partnership, forged through years of shared service, became emblematic of unity between intellect and instinct, a balance that defined Mirax’s career and character alike.
