Musings of a Security Officer

Andi returned to her inner sanctum and sat down behind her desk and from a chiller unit down to her right pulls out a glass and a bottle of whiskey and pours herself a glass she was now off duty, but she still had a personal log to put in. Taking a sip and collating things in her mind trying to make some sense of all that had happened.

"Computer start Personal Log, Lightfeather, Andromeda Lieutenant Commander," she said and the computer sounded a beep to acknowledge her request, she took a deep breath and begun.

"My first couple of weeks on this flying starbase and I have already begun to investigate a murder, such a thing happening in this day and age is unthinkable inside the Federation and especially on a Starfleet ship, even if it is a flying barn. Still, my short spell here has not been dull, the departmental change takes some getting used to, but considering past experiences with ship commanders this was a welcome change and eventful one at that *pauses to take a sip of her drink* what actually puzzles me is what does breaking into a shop on the promenade have to do with a murder on the holodeck, both crimes totally opposite to the other, yet linked by fingerprints and yet those same fingerprints that should be on file are not, so whoever did the killer knows their way around the system, I wish Sharpe were here he could recover deleted files but he is not so it is just me and my computer skills are basic"

She paused as she put the glass down and began to pace her office...

"Even with the killer knowing their way around, why would they usurp the First Officers codes, this tells me that it is either someone close to the command structure or someone who knows how to bypass systems and steal codes, days like this I miss being a First Officer and immediately when I do I remember why I am in Security now, this damn murder has me upended" she paused as she took another sip of her drink. "Still I am none too fond of puzzles, but we have one, currently the investigation is on hold as the ship is preparing for another mission, it is an unusual way of doing things, but every ship commander has their own way" another pause.

"On the personal front, I am settling in quite well, it will take me some time to get used to being on a flying Starbase, I have never seen so many civilian facilities on a Starfleet ship if I did not know better I would think I was on an actual Starbase." she sighed as she finished her drink and returned it to the replicator. "Back to duty with me, computer end Personal Log," she said and the computer made an acknowledging sound.

With that she straightened her tunic and left her quarters, she decided that she would take a walk around the civilian areas after stopping by her office.
