Mission:
Unknown Life, Unknown Dangers
Location: Commodore's Quarters
Will had retired to his quarters when his shift ended, the day had been fairly routine in nature as they continued the transit to the location where the freighter had gone missing. At current speed they would arrive on time and by which it would give them time to filter through all the information they had, any updates and prepare the ship for what they may encounter. Will was smart enough to know that the sudden arrival of the largest classes of ship in service was a bold statement and one that wouldn't go unnoticed. Politically this was a nightmare as blame was sought to be placed in the laps of those responsible, only problem was that so far no laps were available.
Updates from Command yielded very little, sensor scans of passing ships revealed nothing, communications in the area were at normal levels throughout the region so there was no help to be found there. What puzzled Will was the cargo was hardly valuable, stuff one might easily get on the open markets for a cheap price so going to the trouble of attacking, subduing and seizing the ship, crew and cargo seemed a lot for so little reward.
The meeting with his senior staff proved insightful, as the records had indicated everyone was skilled at what they did, the tasks assigned to them were carried out professionally and with due diligence. Everyone had reported that departments were stocked, equipment and supply wise. CAG reported that all new fighters had been assigned, munitions in secured armoured containers and fuel for the warp cores had been topped up while in orbit. He felt like the ship had rolled off the production line, kitted out and ready to go.
He pulled off his boots and placed them near the door then sat down on his large comfortable sofa and let a sigh of relief escape him as he closed his eyes and let the sofa drain him of the days troubles.
From the bedroom came a melodious voice that he would recognize and the lyrics would also be familiar, and whoever was singing it seemed to be doing so softly, but not soft enough to not be heard. "...Hey, mama, how's it going? Can't see your body moving, don't leave the party dying. They call it lonely digging. Your booty shaking, you know, Your head has no right to say no. Tonight it's ready, set, go."
Will remembered that song from when he was in the TPK. He knew who it was, only one other would be in his quarters. He started to dance a little to the bedroom as the song's beat was catchy for sure. He peeked round the frame of the door into the Bedroom where the voice came from.
Vash lay on some type of soft white fur that was piled high on William's bed, her hair and arms strategically covering her breasts. All she wore was a pair of hot pink underwear with The Pink Kitty logo on them and a sultry look on her face. "Well, hello there," she said as she saw William look into the room from the edge of the door.
William grinned as he stepped to lean against the edge of the doorway. "Well hello to you too." He smiled. "How has your day been?" No doubt hers had been better than his own, but that didn't stop him admiring the offered view.
"It's been a wonderful day," she said as she watched him. "I've heard scuttlebutt saying that yours wasn't as good, but we can make up for that, if you're not ready for a nap."
"Today could have gone better but alas the bane of being a Commanding Officer." William spoke walking into the room. "I'm sure a nap can come much later." He finished as he came to a stop at the foot of the bed.
"Have you eaten yet?" Vash asked as she sat up and brushed her long red hair over her shoulders with no trace of being self conscious around him despite being half nude.
"No, I was actually going to call you to see if you wanted to join me for something to eat." Will spoke, the smile still on his face and more so from the now unobstructed view she was presenting him with.
"I would be happy to," she said as she crawled off of the pile of furs and moved over to smooth the front of his uniform. "Why don't you get comfortable and I'll have something sent to us?"
"Sounds good." His hands lay gently on her side as he gave a quick peck to her cheek then began to strip his uniform off him for something more comfortable and less Commodore like.
Vash smiled and went to the side of the bed where she picked a personal civilian communicator from her clothes and placed an order. "Yes, I'll have two Cob'lat burgers with Targ bacon, two sides of shekesh root fries and seasoned, two blue leaf salads and two glasses of icoberry juice. Send it to the Commodore's quarters."
"Good choice." Will spoke as he pulled on a fresh casual shirt. "Did you have any trouble getting here and in?" Wondering if his security guard gave her any problems like the first time.
"None at all," she said. "Of course, they didn't see me come in, so don't get them in trouble if they see me leaving. I didn't know you were a fan of Klingon food. Humans so rarely experiment with Klingon cuisine because of your constitutions. Of course, I know which ones that you couldn't digest and would never order that for you."
"I have tried a few things from time to time, Vulcan food though was the least enjoyed, but Klingon food, some Bajoran, Cardassian and even some trill foods." He continued as he walked to her again and held her in his arms. "Are you sure I'm not keeping you up considering your working hours?" Hoping he was not keeping her from her bed.
Vash was a little surprised that he didn't question how she got into his quarters and filed a mental note away by habit. "Not at all," she said. "I only headline at certain times or by special request only. I have employees who dance full time. I have sampled foods from all over the place, but the one thing I will not eat is Giant Romulan mollusks. They are disgusting," she said with a shudder.
"Special requests huh." A grin formed on his face. "Has business picked up since we left Earth?" He knew how anything ship board tends to suffer when the opportunity for real planet side options were available.
"Not much, but I didn't expect it to," she said as she moved back to lounge on the pile of furs again. "Everyone got sated when they were on Earth, but there's always people coming in for a drink or a bit of entertainment. I don't really operate The Pink Kitty for profit, so it works out."
"So what did your staff say when they saw you leaving with me? How many chewed your ear for all the juicy gossip?" William moved to lay on his front on the bed, his head propped up on his hands.
"None of them" Vash said, a note of surprise in her voice that either he would ask such a question or that her employees would ask her something like that. It was almost like she had no idea what it was to be questioned about things.
"Oh, just remembered." He got up off the bed and walked into the main room where his desk was. A draw could be heard opening then closing. "I have this for you." A PADD in hand. "I found you some quarters." He handed her all the information she'd need. "It's with the general population of families, its medium sized. There was a last minute crew change before we left Earth which left them vacant. You can have it if you want?"
She took the PADD and looked at it. "Do you think the families in that area would approve of me moving in?" she asked him. "I do run a exotic dancing club, after all. I wouldn't want the women to be accusing me or the men to be hounded by them. Not to mention any children."
"I considered that and you are right next to a Turbolift, 20 feet at most, so in any event your exposure is very minimal at best since you're on the edge of the section. If you do have any troubles though, let me know and I'll speak to them or see if there is somewhere else." William was hopeful that in this day and age people were more accepting of the professions people engaged in, but there were always the odd one or two that didn't see it that way.
"It's not just that," Vash said. "I'm an Orion female. You know how my pheromones affect men and women. That's why I've been staying in my quarters. However, if there were a back way in and out of the quarters...."
William had some thought about it. "Would a small scale transporter help? Maybe have it installed in the club so you could transport your goods from storage or the Cargohold straight to the club for unpacking and yourself to and from your quarters?" He offered. "It would function like a normal transporter but its locations would be lock restricted, for security obviously." Not that he needed to say it but he knew he'd have to get security to code it, secure it and log it.
"Aren't cargo transporters less specialised and have to be re-calibrated for humanoid transport?" Vash asked him. "That would be a waste of resources, William," she pointed out. "I could just use the Jeffries Tubes the same way I got in here."
Will raised an eyebrow and a smile about how she got in here. It still left her in a bind though when it came to quarters. "If you want I can see about Engineering expanding the room you use at the club?" He was just trying to help and give options, what ever made her happier.
"Do you not have personal transporters that allow for site to site transport?" she asked him guilelessly as she lay back and stretched her arms over her head and arched her back.
"Yes." William replied. "I'll see what I can do for you." He knew it might take a little doing but if it made things easier in the long run, it would be worth it. He smiled as he watched her stretch, her chest pushed out, back arched.
The door chimed and Vash smiled. "I think that our food is here. Can you get it while I slip something on?"
Will smiled as he shuffled off the bed, stole a final look then walked into the main room to collect the waiting food. "Thank you." As he took the container of food and the doors closed. He walked to the table and opened it to be greeted by a waft of mixed aromas. "This smells really good." He spoke more to himself while Vash dressed.
She came out wearing a blue silk top and a black mini skirt a few minutes later. "It's all made fresh," she said. "I only use real products for my clientele, and special people. I hope you enjoy everything."
"Well, I'm sure we are going to enjoy this." He began to unpack the container. "Would you like some proper glasses for the drinks?" He offered as he placed the various containers around the table. He gave her an appreciative glance from head to toe.
"Please," Vash said as she went to help him and made a point to inspect everything with a critical eye and finally nodded. "I am very pleased," she said at last. "The cook didn't mess anything up."
Grabbing some glasses Will returned to the table. "So, what would you recommend trying first?" Since Vash ordered, she'd know what was best to start with having no doubt tried all of the selection already.
"Anything you prefer," she said. "It's the equivalent of what you would call easy food. So whatever you want is okay with me."
Will took the easy option and a bit of everything. "What tickles your fancy?" He asked wondering what she would dive into first.
Vash reached for the Cob'lat burger and took a bite after she sat down and made a sound that was partially erotic and part pure hunger. "This is really good."
"I'll try some after I've finished this little selection." Will replied as he tucked into it. The selection he picked was tasty with a wide range of textures and flavours. He took his time enjoying it and poured two glasses of the beverage that came with it. "Here, something to wash it down with."
"Thank you," she said as she accepted it and pointed out the Targ bacon. "My supplier on Qo'nos personally selects each Targ to be harvested and uses only finest cuts, seasons them himself and cures them for a standard year before he sells them."
Will continued to eat his plated gathering of choices, though she was right, it was really good. Teaming with tastes and flavours which he sipped water to wash it down it before trying the next item. "I'll have to remember this place."
Vash set her burger down and looked over at him. "I need to be honest with you, William," she said. "I'm afraid that you'll find out sooner or later and I need to come clean with you now."
"About what?" Will wiped his mouth, put his cutlery down to give her his undivided and full attention.
"What I'm going to tell you is known only by a handful of people, all of whom have more pips on their collars than you do, so it has to remain confidential," she warned him.
This had to be good if brass knew and he didn't and she was on his ship. "Ok." Still his attention to her, undivided and focused.
"My real name used to be Melani D'ian and I was the head of the Orion Syndicate before I turned on them and the Federation gave me a new identity in exchange for information that I provided them," Vash told him.
Shock or was it surprise that kept him motionless for a brief moment? "The head of the OS..." Now everything slowly started to seep in. In the one hand it was before him and her got together, it was her past and if this relationship was to work he had to accept that as part of her now and her past. In the other hand though he wondered why say anything. If this was limited to brass it was doubtful he'd find out because it would all be sealed well above his access levels. Still, honesty was the best policy and perhaps she was doing this to be open, so that there were no secrets between them. "My girlfriend the former head of the OS."
Shock or surprise was set in now. "Wow." A smile formed on his face, maybe it was disbelief at what his ears had heard but in the other hand maybe he was just processing it in his own way. "Um.." Will laughed only slightly. "Well, I don't have any secrets that can top that I'm afraid." He rubbed his brow but as much as he appreciated her honesty, it wouldn't change anything.
"That's it?" Vash asked him with a raised eyebrow. "No questioning, no throwing accusations, no desire to beat me or tell me to get out?"
Will turned in his chair to face her more properly. "Here is the situation I'm in Vash." Using the name he knew her to be. "In the one hand, all this was before I even turned up on the scene, why should I now use that against you now? It's in your past, I'm content to leave it there, I thank you for telling me, being honest and up front about it but I'm not going to make you live through all the doubt, the scepticism, the 'at arms reach' ordeal that you no doubt went through when you came over to the Federation."
"In the other hand, honestly, yeah it's a lot to take in but I got to admit, there is kind of a thrill to it. My girlfriend was once one of the most powerful women going and here she is, with me, all mine...." He shrugged his shoulders. "End of the day babe, I don't care who you used to be, what you did, where, when or why. What I care about is you, here, now and with me. What we do today, tomorrow, the next day is what is important to me." Will spoke, as calm and softly as from when he started.
"I went from a slave girl to the only woman to ascend to the head of the Orion Syndicate," she said. "So I'm used to the abuse part of things, which I'm grateful that you aren't like that. I did what no woman had done in thirty years, then I turned against each and every one of the bastards who used me. Now, it's a new day and I think you are just the man I'm looking for."
"Why thank you." Will spoke with a smile. It would take a little for everything to settle in but he honestly didn't see that as changing anything. What she was isn't what she is anymore, yes it was part of her but he didn't see why that should change anything now. "So, since you have revealed something about yourself, what do you want to know about me?"
"I didn't tell you in order to get something from you other than what you choose to tell me freely, William," Vash said. "I told you because I care about you and I don't want brass breathing down your neck when they find out about you and I."
"Ok, well." She shared something, as would he. "There has never been anyone serious in my life, honestly I think for a time I thought I was married to Starfleet but I'm sure many officers and ratings can say that at one point or another." Will explained. "With half a hand I can count my partners in my career but it grew harder to meet people as I rose the ranks, being with an officer can be off putting to some because of the dangers the uniform can bring." He paused for a moment as he considered, was that normal, or did that make him look bland with his lack of intimacy in his life.
"Well, I am not a Starfleet officer and have no orders telling me where I need to go or when I need to go there, so there's nothing to stop me from following you if you go somewhere else," she said as she picked at her salad.
"The fortune of being a civilian, I admit I am envious of that but I knew when I enlisted I'd have to give that freedom up." He ate for a moment then asked. "So, likes and dislikes? They can be general or intimate. I just don't want to make mistakes if I can possibly avoid them, better to avoid a problem by not causing one."
"I only have one rule," Vash said. "If I say no to something, it means no. Not keep trying in different ways to get me to do it because that will be the fastest way to seeing me walking out the door. I'm open to pretty much everything, but never lay a hand on me in anger."
"I think those are pretty much the standard rules in any given situation there Vash." Still, there was a lot of freedom to explore with her being open to many things. He finished what was on his plate and placed his knife and fork together. "That was pretty good actually." He did enjoy the mix of tastes and flavours, it kept things varied and unique.
She finished off her meal and looked at him. "Yes, but not everyone would put a contract out on your life for doing something after I said no," she said without batting an eyelash.
"Consider myself warned, though I am feel oh so loved." Will playfully smiled as he pushed his plate forward slightly.
"Don't worry," Vash said sweetly as she leaned over to brush a kiss against his lips. "If it ever came down to that, I'd do it myself."
"Charmed." Will smiled. "By the way, my Chief of Security reported that a kid was caught with Romulan Ale, apparently an adult snuck it out of the club and the kid got hold of it. What happened?" He asked, not that he was out to throw blame but just be filled in from her side of things to make the puzzle whole.
Vash's face turned a darker shade of green and she looked like she was getting ready to bite the head off of someone. "Could you please repeat that?" she asked.
Ohhh boy William wondered if he was about to reap some very unpleasant backlash.
She took several breaths and was silent for a moment before she nodded. "I had a customer who was insistent that I allow him to take drinks out of the club and I refused as it's against my policy. It seems the fool made it out with something that is strictly against my rules and illegal in the Federation and was stupid enough to let a child get their hands on it? He is now banned from the club and I'll answer any questions that your Chief of Security has. I also wish to press charges against him."
"See Commander Reign about it, she can arrange it." It left him in the spot that said beverage was only on board because he allowed it. Commander Reign would whole heartedly disapprove of that once she knew.
"I will," Vash said as she pushed her plate aside. "Now I'm going to have to order every person leaving my club searched before I allow them out. Reign will probably want to station Security outside of it and that's going to take away business, too. All because of one asshole."
"Talk to her first, she may accept this was a one off incident and leave it at that." Will wasn't sure of that though. "I'm confident you two can come to some sort of compromise. I mean it's a club, things like this are bound to happen, we can always install scanners into the flooring or any other decoration if you wanted to prevent people doing that." He suggested.
"You could do that?" she asked as she looked over at him.
"The scanners, yeah course. That way everyone is scanned coming in and leaving, you'd be able to tell if they are leaving with any property of yours or drinks." William answered. "Are you ok?" This really seemed to bother Vash and he wanted to put things right.
"I've done a lot of things," Vash said softly. "But one thing I have never done is put something in the hands of a child that could kill them. How someone could be so irresponsible....it makes me want to put a contract out on them the moment they leave Federation space."
Will smiled as he stood up and came to a stop behind her. His hands rested on her shoulders after worming their way through her hair and gently massaging her shoulders evenly. "It's not your fault, he chose to act, it's on him."
"It was my booze and my club," she said. "It's my responsibility."
"But you are not responsible for the actions of another Vash. Yes it's from the club, but you don't encourage it. You provide entertainment, a service so to speak. It's not your fault if people abuse it like he did." Will spoke trying to be reassuring. "All you can do now is adapt, adjust and work towards preventing it happening again."
"I am responsible," Vash said as she came to her feet and turned to look up at him. "If that child had consumed Romulan Ale, it would have killed him or her! That would have been on my hands!"
"No, it would been on mine. I was the one that allowed you to have the Ale on board my ship in the first place." Will now tried to shift the responsibility onto him with that little detail hoping it would do something to cheer her up or at the very least, relax her a little with the truth.
"I think I need to stop serving it and airlock the rest of it," she said. "Maybe I'll stop selling alcohol in there, period. It would put a stop to that and no child would ever have a chance of being hurt again."
"It's your business Vash, I'm not going to tell you how to run it or what to do." His hands came to rest on the curve of her waist. "It's hard, accidents happen, mistakes are made but we look at them and we work on how to prevent it happening again. If you think scanners are the way to go, then I'll have my Chief Engineer come see you, if you feel dropping the booze is it, that is up to you."
"I would greatly appreciate having the scanners put in," Vash said with a nod. "If it means preventing a child from being hurt, then it's what I want done."
"I shall have the Chief see you in the morning." Will replied as he held her. Progress was being made and he had a hand in it, that was something. "So, what can I tempt the lady with, dessert, more food, something to drink?"
"If you can get a Ktarian chocolate puff, I'll do almost anything you want," she said.
"Seventeen types of chocolate." William smiled. "I'm sure the replicator can whip one up, one or two spoons?" He asked then added. "Extra sauce?" His smiled widened.
"No spoons and extra sauce," Vash said with a look in her emerald green eyes. "Although you may need clean sheets after we're done."
"You head in there." He nodded to the bedroom. "I'll get dessert." He spoke as he reluctantly let her go and with a whisp of a kiss to her lips he let her go and made his way to the replicator.
She smiled and headed into the bedroom. "Don't make me wait too long or I may have to start without you," she said.
Will had just reached the replicator and was about to speak when Vash spoke. He looked over to her seeing the back of her as she passed into the bedroom. "Tease." He called out, then ordered dessert, no spoons, extra sauce in a small container.
By the time he arrived back in the bedroom, Vash had already removed her clothes and had the white fur draped over her, revealing only half of her nude green body. She smiled when she saw him and what he carried. "Let the exploration of dessert begin," she said.
Carefully and with delicate movements Will knelt on the bed and slowly shuffled towards her carrying his confectionery delight on the tray, with it a container with extra sauce. "You realise if we eat this the fitness regime we will need later to recover is going to be huge."
She laughed. "I have a good idea that what comes after that lovely dessert will burn more than enough calories," she said and licked her lips.
"That's if, you are not too full of this to act on those words." Will smiled as he settled down near her and placed the tray on the bed. "Dessert Madam, enjoy." He looked her in the eyes and smiled as he waited for her to take a piece first.
Vash dipped a finger in the dessert and raised it to his lips. "Let the battle begin," she purred.
Will sucked off the dessert and returned the favour. It was a good thing it was being shared because he'd have trouble doing even half this alone considering how sweet it was, without a double leave him on a sugar high from the 17 blends of chocolate involved.
She took his finger into her mouth and collapsed her cheeks around it, her eyes locked on his. Her tongue rolled around his finger to get all of the chocolate off of it before she slowly pulled back until she released it with a wet popping sound.
Will smiled at the antics she was playing then slowly slid off the bed so to not knock over the dessert, he took off his clothing so to not get any chocolate on them. At least that was the excuse he was telling himself as he lay his shirt on a nearby chair. He crawled as slowly as he slid off back onto the bed in nought but boxers and back to Vash and dessert.
Vash looked down at his boxers and raised an eyebrow. "Already planning on defending yourself before the battle even begins, William?" she asked as she tossed the white fur aside completely.
"I find that a strong defence makes for a practical offence later, besides, war shouldn't be rushed, it takes planning, cunning and deviousness to achieve victory in the long run." Will replied seeing her once again devoid of cloth and fur. "Besides, chocolate is always a priority when its present."
"That's where you're wrong, William," she purred as she leaned over to kiss him and bit his bottom lip gently. "We both know that any plan never survives first contact with the enemy."
"Hmmm true, but some kind of plan is better than none." Will sampled the sweet dessert and smiled. For him it was a very rare treat, he didn't usually have chocolate but the occasional drink perhaps instead. "Some sauce?" Will spoke offering her the sweet extra.
Vash dipped her finger in the sauce and drew circles around his nipples, then leaned in to slowly lick it off while she watched him with her emerald eyes.
Will grinned, someone was playing dirty, if the use of Chocolate could be called that. "I can see this bed getting very messy Vash." He picked off a piece of the Chocolate puff and held it close to her lips as if to offer her it, he'd pull it away slightly if Vash tried to get it, maybe run it along her lips to melt leaving a trail on her skin. His own little payback, but just a little.
She smiled and lay there for a moment watching him, then when he ran his finger along his lips, she moved her head forward quickly and lightly nipped at his finger. "Never tease a woman with chocolate, William," she said. "That was a warning nip."
William smiled as he sucked his finger clean of the dessert she missed in her attack. "Duly noted." He spoke as he took a small spoonful for himself while admiring her.
"Shame on you," Vash said as she leaned over to dip her finger in the sauce and took her time licking it off. "You weren't supposed to do that."
Will smiled, knowing the risks he dipped his finger into the sauce again and held it out to her. "How about now?" He smiled intent of making amends.
Now she closed her mouth around his finger and pulled back slowly as her tongue swirled around the digit to clean it before she released it with a wet popping sound. "Much better," she said with a mischievous look in her emerald eyes. "You are learning."
"Well what do they say about teaching old dogs new tricks?" Will replied as he ate a bite himself. He couldn't eat much, it was far too sweet for him to eat a lot but it was more the company than the food. Will dipped his finger in the sauce again and held it out to her as if offering it, but instead let it drip on her, traced small chocolate lines, draw little swirls with it on her green skin. "Such a beautiful canvas to work with."
Vash shivered and lay back on the bed, arching her back as she did so to thrust her nice breasts further into the air. "Are you my painter, Sweet William?"
William chuckled to himself as he licked his finger clean. "Hmmm let's see." He surged towards her, the dessert tumbled and squashed, the small container of sauce now lay on its side spilling its liquid delicacy. Will however wrapped his arms around Vash, his leg between hers as he licked where sauce had dripped and nibbled on her neck.
"William!" she exclaimed as he smashed the dessert against her as well as the dish of chocolate sauce. Her cries turned to moans and she intertwined her leg with his and gave him a deep, passionate kiss as she moved her arms behind him and drew slight gouges down his back with her fingernails.
What started out as playful turned more intimate and wanting as bodies entwined, passion spilled from one to another. Tomorrow was the start of things, where action would be made and orders given but for now, as they lay naked and covered in chocolate the two of them gave and took what they sought and right now, blissful, adult and tender pleasure.
