Mission:
New Faces and Terror Beyond
Location: En route to Dreadnought's location
Timeline: Before "Change of Command"
ON:
After months and months of Charlie helping her dad take care of her mom, her mom lost her battle with an incurable disease. She boarded a ship and made their way to meet up with the Dreadnought. It was a long ride. When they were close, she was informed that there would be a change in command taking place, so she dressed appropriately and a shuttle took her the rest of the way.
Charlie dozed off in the shuttle...
RECENT PAST
Holding her mom's frail hand, "Charlotte, when I am gone, your father and I agree that you need to return to the Dreadnought. I know you. You'll put your life on hold and take care of your dad. He doesn't want that for you and neither do I. Starfleet was and has always been very important to me. Promise me that you'll go back. Promise!"
Charlotte hesitated, knowing that once she made the promise, that her mom would go. "I promise. I love you mom." She watched her mom close her eyes and felt her grip release, her hand slipping out of hers. She looked finally at peace.
PRESENT
"Ma'am? Um, Lieutenant Beckett?"
Charlie jumped when she was touched by someone, "Sorry ma'am. We have arrived at our destination. You've been asked to meet everyone in Hanger Bay 1."
Charlie shook it off, "Thank you." She got up and left. She was eager to see Kyle again. They had talked off and on but it wasn't the same as being with him. As she made her way to Hanger Bay 1, she felt a little nervous. S'iraa always made her a little nervous but not knowing who the new CO was, that made her more nervous.
She was the first to arrive.
