Mission: Unknown Life, Unknown Dangers
Location: Reign / Patrovski Quarters

The conversation with the Admiral had taken nearly 3 gruelling hours. The Admiral questioned everything, every action, consequence, reaction and more. Will felt the Admiral was going easy on him, the Admiralty Board he knew would not be so forgiving. Still however he had to speak to Commander Reign, he'd already spoken to Lt Bradhsaw. The Admiral had left Will with a bit of a headache but he felt any delays would only make things worse.

Rounding a corner he saw the two security officers standing outside the Commander's quarters. One pressed the chime for him.

"Enter," BJ called from where she sat on the sofa. She still wore her uniform and her combadge was sitting on the coffee table in front of her as well as her pips.

Will watched the doors open and stepped in seeing BJ on the sofa. He offered a small smile though given the situation it paled in comparison. "I've just come from the Admiral." Will sighed as it was evident it didn't go very well. "To say hes less than happy what I've done to his ship is an understatement."

He rubbed his chin briefly. "How is Xavier?" Will knew from when the plan was actioned to remove the nacelle, that he was speaking on behalf of Sickbay but the state of his recovery was unknown to Will.

"He got thrown out of Sickbay for trying to help the casualties after the nacelle was removed," BJ replied. "In general, he's doing better. Thank you for asking."

"How are you holding up?" Will asked not doubting for a moment that what had happened she'd been thinking a lot about. At least he had some good news regarding Lt Bradshaw to tell her, he'd leave the Admiral till later.

She gave a half shrug. "Fine. So what did the Admiral say, Commodore?" she asked, getting to the heart of it.

"Well..." Will started with a sigh. "Being his Flagship hes understandably unhappy but I think you expected that. I spoke to the Chief and hes elected not to press charges which has gone on your favour, however, he feels that given your position on board, your rank, and while the situation was difficult for you, it was uncharacteristic of your person he feels something must be done." Will took a breath.

"If I can be frank? The situation was bad, I've gone through your service record 3 times already, yes you acted but it wasn't like you that everyone knows. I honestly don't want to lose you, you are a good officer and we all make mistakes." Will could rattle off a few from his own career.

"All of which means what, exactly, Commodore?" BJ asked him. She was ready for any punishment that he decreed and hadn't worn her pips or combadge since she was relieved of duty. To her, she was simply just a passenger on the ship until the Powers That Be decided her fate.

"It means, that you should use this time to be with Xavier. You don't know what is going to happen and nor do I, so make the best of it and be with him. The Admiral has left it in my hands for the time being, so I'll continue to keep it in my hands if at all possible."

"if he's left it in your hands, that means it's yours to decide," she said logically. "If you don't, he will."

"While that may be true this remains his flagship, he has the authority to overrule me. However I doubt he will keep his flag on board once we arrive at the array." Giving a hint as to what Will was planning to do.

"You can't put me double duty since I've been relieved of duty," BJ said. "Why not simply demote me and let me earn it back?"

"Because Im content to take into consideration other situations, the Admiral is not. I'm happy to view this as an isolated incident, a reaction to a difficult position forced on by the perils of a loved one. The Admiral is not. I'm happy to give you a slap on the wrist, a written warning in your records at best but the Admiral is not as forgiving." William explained trying to save her career.

"It still sounds like no matter what you do, he can override your decision," she pointed out. "I'm in no position to make suggestions of any kind. Call it temporary insanity and send me to counseling, maybe."

Will sighed, she seemed like she was determined to beat herself with what happened or what the end result could be. What he had to say would bear little weight while the Admiral was on board he knew. "I'll keep you informed." Best he could do given the situation, but at least she could occupy her time with Xavier.

"Thank you, Commodore," BJ said.

Will nodded and then departed, he had to find a way to delay things long enough for the Admiral to leave, once he had then the playing field would change enough for Will to get his own way.
