Mission: Unknown Life, Unknown Dangers
Location: Starship Avaya (Nebula Class)
Timeline: Backpost (During Crew screening)

Acacia had never been more eager to get away from a station as she’d been to get away from the Array. It was quite possibly the worst place she’d ever lived in, and she’d been stationed on Andor for a while. The decontamination facilities were wonderful but the space that they’d built for crew quarters she had to share with 5 other women.

The surgeon was overjoyed to get her transfer orders, and didn’t even read them before going to pack. Her vibrant violet hair bounced behind her as she hurried to ready her things so she might report for duty to the...checking the PADD, the Dreadnought. Her smile only increased at that, for that was the ship that Jack was on. Hopefully she'd see him again before she came aboard.

Xavier was in some assigned quarters, thankfully he was one of the early ones checked and given his skills once cleared he was allowed to help with clearing the rest including a very disgruntled and unhappy Admiral. He had little doubt that some staff would depart the ship for a new assignment, some would stay but for now he was unsure which as the next transport planet side was only 3 hours away.

"Computer, name and location of the Chief Medical Officer of the Dreadnought" Acacia asked softly raking his hand through violet locks, from dark to light.

"Commander Xavier Petrovski, currently in Avaya crew quarters. " The soft feminine voice of the computer answered.

Acacia walked slowly down to the crew quarters, settling down into the lounge to wait for the commander. After all everyone had to eat.

With nothing better to do Xavier went to get something to eat, he was unsure if BJ had been cleared yet but then again he was still unsure what her future held when it came to what happened. Leaving his assigned quarters he went to get something to eat before returning to help the medical team clear the rest of the Dreadnought crew. Then the doors to Ten Forward opened he was not surprised to see an ocean of blue uniforms.

She's been slowly sipping on a hot chocolate and occasionally dipping a cinnamon cookie into the liquid to nibble. Looking up when the door opened, she recognized the man from his bio picture and waved at him from her table.

Xavier recognised the female wave from one of the teams that he was helping to clear the Dreadnought crew. "Enjoying a moment to yourself?" Xavier spoke as he came to the table. "Something sweet, I wont tell the dentist." He grinned as he looked at her nibbled cookie.

Acacias face showed amusement at his teasing. "Sweets are one of my few weaknesses Commander. Wont you sit?"

"Thank you." Taking a seat he looked at her 'treat'. "Another day down, tomorrow is just around the corner." He sighed hoping that something would happen soon instead of being cooped up on board like contaminated sardines.

"I do hope so, as I get to leave this lovely array behind when you leave. I've been assigned to your staff, sir." her smile was brilliant, as clearly she was pleased with this turn of events.

"I've yet to really look at the new assignments." Xavier smiled. "Surprised people applied considering the history this ship has with action." Xavier smiled as he leaned back. "So what brings you to the large home that is the Dreadnought?"

"Anything is better than an array which until now has gotten nothing but the occasional bout of flu or...overindulgence?" Her laugh was wry, but she followed it up with "In all seriousness though, I want to be on the front lines- the action and exploration call to me as much as the medicine does."

"Well you will for sure find plenty of all that. It's no secret that the Dreadnought has a 4% higher crew casualty rate than any other ship in the fleet. Considering what she was and is now, all battleships that shouldn't really be a surprise since you put your heavy hitters where they do most good in combat." Xavier replied. "Have you looked up the working environment in Sickbay on the ship? We rival most Starbases we have that much room and equipment."

"I did. It was suggested by one of your crew that I might enjoy the sheer amount of work available, and should apply directly." her cheeks colored ever so slightly at the memory of her conversation with the Colonel.

"Well you will find plenty of work." Xavier spoke with a warm smiled and silently it would be a welcome addition since he knew how much work that could land in their laps from time to time. "Well you kind of met most of the crew with the checks you helped clear them with."

"That's not the same- honestly." Acacia answered with a chuckle "When you're medically clearing someone- you don't necessarily look twice at the crew. "

"True, but Im sure when we launch again you will meet many new ones for pre joining assessments." Xavier inwardly sighed, he hated those especially on a large ship or thousands, officers, ratings and civilians all had to be screened.

"Honestly- I can't wait. Its an old hat in a whole new world. I am emergency and trauma certified as well, should that be needed." Raking her fingers through her bright purple hair, twisting a silvery end between her fingers.

"Not to be rude, but whats with the hair?" A smile on his face indicating he meant it well and friendly, it was not often he saw people with hair like that in uniform.

"Life is boring when things are status quo." she shrugged in response. "I like to be different, and I like to make people smile, and this has both effects."

"I'll give you that, sure does turn some heads." Having already noticed men and several woman notice her hair and some smiling clearly by the smiles and gestures wondering if they should do the same.

"I change it every few months to something more feisty. I think next will be red, or maybe orange." she grinned at him "So do you think I'll manage well on your staff, or are you going to try to be rid of me in a month?"

"I think you will fit in just fine." Xavier smiled. "Besides, Sickbay could do with some colour and I'm sure patients will not mind the change." An added perk of Acacia was that she'd already met most of the crew from the screenings everyone had to take and with hair like hers she would be hard to forget which could help her fit in.

"I'll bring color to your life, don't you doubt it for a moment." The smile that lit her face transformed her from merely pretty to beautiful even with the violet lock caressing her cheek. "Thank you Sir...for not judging the outside appearance. I...really appreciate it."

Xavier smiled. "Well I suppose I should head off, don't want to keep the lady waiting. Big plans for her and I'll be lucky to survive them." Still slightly worried about how BJ would take to his plans since she knew nothing about them.

"Have fun sir!" She twiddled her fingers at him and went back to her coffee.
