Mission: The Emerald Road
Location: Gym / Temp Quarters

IC:

Amanda dressed in shorts and t-shirt, wiping off the sweat after a serious workout. She was eyeing the big punching bag over in the corner. She still had headaches from pheromones of the Orion Females that saturated the air on the space station in the rescue of the Captain's Lady.. Her hands, even though she had worn gloves, was sore from slapping a few heads of her troops to keep them in line as they fought against the Orion Males.

But then it was an excitable time of actually getting out there and putting their training to lethal uses against an enemy that took one of theirs. A Crewmember of the ship she served on. Even if she was a Civilian Contracted Employee. She was still part of the community that deserved the best in protection and rescue when that protection failed. It was bad mark against Security and Marines that it had happened and gotten the bad mark erased when they recovered her.

Again, she tore into the huge hanging punching bag as if it was an enemy that wouldn't go down. It was slowly swinging and spinning from the impacts of her punches and kicks flowing smoothly, trying to erase the image of Vash when they found her as she pounded the bag. Getting the demons that rode her out through the physical workout against the huge hanging punching bag.

Zan took a casual walk to the Gym where the computer had told him where Amanda was. Things had been pretty tense, he'd heard the stories, the talk and chatter, even a few reports himself given his position on the senior staff. It was rough but they got Vash back.

When the doors opened it was not hard to pick out Amanda, the firely woman off to one side clearly giving a bag a thorough beating. One of the other marines present patted him on the shoulder as he passed. "Watch yourself with that one."

Zan thought better than to comment on her technique, he knew she'd beat him in a fight because she was trained to so giving her flak was off the table. "Rumour has it there is a one woman army in here, and I think I found her." Zan said as he walked to the edge of the mat Amanda was standing on.

Without missing a strike and a round house kick, slamming her heel into the bag with a sharp thwack of impact. She bounce back, giving her head a quick toss to flick sweat soaked hair from her face that had come loose from the bun she wore it in. Eyes narrowed in concentration, she spoke with a growl. "If I had my way..."

She backed away from the swinging bag to a safe distance. She moved over to the bench that held her towel and water bottle. "What brings you down this way?" Then wiping off the sweat from her face and taking a sip of water from the bottle. Her tank top was dark where it was soaking up moisture. Her chest heaving with the deep breaths she took to replenish the oxygen in her body.

"You, I thought we might talk, about us." Zan spoke hoping that Amanda was ok with it. "I figured some we got some time on our hands and maybe we could talk about what our future is going to be looking like."

Amanda got that distant stare for a few second, letting towel hang a round her neck as she held the water bottle. "I'm sure it'll be interesting. Walk with me to your quarters. She tore the tape off her hands that protected her knuckles "And we can talk while I get cleaned up." She smiled at him, grabbing her gym bag after tossing the used tape into the recycler.

"I replicated some new towels just today, the big fluffy ones you like." Zan spoke as he followed her to the doors. "Anything you want to talk about, been hitting the Gym a lot, coming home later than usual." Zan tried not to feel it, but wondered if Amanda was losing interest.

"I've to exercise more to keep up with the younger troops that are coming aboard." Amanda spoke softly as she walked next to Zan. "Too much paperwork now that I'm a platoon sergeant. Gotta keep up on the progress of the troops, disciplinary actions before it becomes a real problem that the higher ups take notice."

"So, its not the flyboy partner to blame?" Zan had at times been needy of her time and attention, trying to grab what he could between his shifts and hers and the want to be with or near her.

Amanda came to a stop and looked at Zan. "No. If I had a problem with you. You would definitely know about it and several of my troops would be in the Brig by now. Besides I would let you know personally." She gave him a quick hug.

The hug was welcome and honestly, needed. With everything that had gone on of late he did fear a little for the relationship and how little time they had managed to spend together because of duties. "Consider myself warned." The walk was a short one but it gave them time to talk about things. When the doors opened to home it awaited them. "The towels are in the bathroom hanging up."

Amanda smiled at him. "Care to join me?" Giving a seductive pose at the doorway to the bathroom.

"I sure do." Zan replied, it was not often they had time together, duties and all that, but that just made what time they did spend together all the more precious. Heading towards the bathroom where Amanda stood, that look, the pose, his resulting grin.

Amanda moved deeper into the refresher, peeling off the sweat soaked t-shirt she wore and let fall to the floor soon followed her shorts. Letting him get an eye full as she kicked off her shoes. "Aint you a bit overdressed?" Turning to face him, letting him get a view of her.

"I can fix that." Zan spoke as he started to remove his clothing. He could see where all that working out, Gym and routine was going, all into that very trim and sexy body of hers. His own clothing joined hers on the floor as he stepped forward and taking her in his arms be backed her into the shower and turned it on.
