Mission:
New Faces and Terror Beyond
Location: Codeis System
Ra sat on the Bridge and it was but moments before they would exit warp on the outer edge of the Codeis System. Last minute reports and updates kept him up to date on any developments that had taken place in transit but for the most part everyone was waiting for the Federation delegate to arrive.
"Exiting warp in 60 seconds Captain."
"Very well, upon exit I want a complete scan of the system, transmission traffic and any unusual sensor readings done straight away." Ra wanted to know the lay of the land so that he may better do what was needed. It came as little surprise when the report came in that the key notes of it were the large warships in orbit of the only inhabitable planet. Cedeis III. There was little doubt they were detected as soon as they exited warp so Ra ordered a stead pace of three quarter impulse until they joined the other warships.
"Open a channel to the Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians and Vulcans." Ra spoke as he stood up from his chair. "Multiscreen as they reply."
It came as little surprise to him that the Vulcans answered first followed by the Cardassians, Klingons and Romulans. "I am Captain Havrelli of the Federation Starship Dreadnought."
"Commander T'Rel of the Vulcan vessel T'vak".
"Gul Re'Call of the Cardassian cruiser Domull".
"Captain Kim'Pok of warship Qwu'pw'i".
"Commander Arrhae of the Romulan Valdore Vireeth."
Now that Ra knew names he also started to get a feel for them as individuals. "Gentlemen, no doubt we are all eager to get to the bottom of this, might I suggest that we meet aboard my ship, exchange information, findings and conclusions so that we can better understand who might be behind this attack."
"It was a cowardly attack." Kim'Pok blurted out. "They have no honour."
"Not everyone is so driven by acts of honour as you are Klingon." Gul Re'Call chirped up and in Ra's opinion didn't help the situation.
"Now now, Gentlemen." Ra hoped to interrupt before this got out of hand. "Our enemy is out there, let us pool our information and see what we have individually collected, share our knowledge and together we can seek justice for the innocents lost and the knowledge we have been deprived of that would have benefited all."
"We all agreed to wait for Starfleet's representative, it would be illogical to not unite our information to resolve this crisis." Commander T'rel spoke in that typically stotic semi agitating condescending voice.
"Agreed." The Romulan spoke. Ra had to check his surprise. Romulans seldom acted first unless they were to gain from it. Ra had to wonder what that gain was aside from shared findings.
"Very well." Next the Cardassian agreed.
"I will make my conference room available in 30 minutes. I will send coordinates to beam to." Ra spoke and to no surprise at all the Klingons, Romulans and Cardassians all cut the link leaving the Vulcan still linked in.
"Commander, you have been here the longest what can you tell me about the other Captains?" Ra asked.
T'Rel explained his perspectives on the people involved. As expected the Klingons disapproved of a cowardly bombing and cared little for the how or aftermath. The Cardassians had kept characteristically quiet on the matter but did freely reveal the information they had uncovered. The Romulans were difficult to engage and believed one of the others present was responsible for the attack. "What about you Captain, what have you discovered?"
"I will reveal that information at the meeting. T'Rel out."
The link closed leaving Ra with more questions than answers. He turned around and sat in his chair again and one hand brushing his moustache. He hoped by the time he reached the Transporter Room the other Captains would be ready. "Number One, prepare the Observation Lounge. It seems we have much to discuss".
