Mission: What Stalks The Night
Location: Hanger Bay / CAG's Office

Will needed to get out of his office, he'd been stuck in there for some time reading report after report, if he kept that up he would start seeing reports on the inside of his eye lids. Exiting his office and walking across the substantial Bridge he entered a Turbolift and rode it down to the main hanger, where within housed the CAG's office. As he crossed the hanger following the outlined pathways but stopping every now and then to look around at the rows of fighters facing each other in a stare down. Ground crews worked making sure every single craft was ready, systems checked and double checked, routine maintenance or what appeared to be such to Will's eyes was done.

"Captain, what brings you to my neck of the woods?" Zan was doing a walk around the craft, particularly his own when he saw the Captain and decided to walk over to see what was up.

"Actually, you." Will said turning to face his CAG. "Did you get my message?"

"Sorry no, I've been doing my rounds." Zan explained feeling dumb for not setting the computer to notify him of a message needing his attention.

"I need a shuttle prepped for launch, the sooner the better." Will spoke.

"Ok, destination?" Zan asked.

"Earth, Starfleet Medical."

"Cargo?"

"1 passenger, Ensign Leeson." Will answered as he watched a team of techs with a container carried between them. "It's, complicated. Sufficed to say we will drop from warp, the shuttle will depart and we jump to warp again straight after. Time is a factor for the mission at hand and while Im confident I can account for the reduction in speed I want everything to be above board."

"Above board?" Zan asked slightly confused by that remark.

"I'm going to have security scan the shuttle, search Ensign Leeson and the pilot you assign." Will spoke seeing the confusion. "I really can't go into why, I know it sounds extreme but there are parts of this mission that security is at an all time high."

"Shouldn't be a problem, I'll let the pilot know." Zan was trying hard to be understanding but sometimes orders were orders and the why's were seldom told. "Will the shuttle be returning?"

"No, it will remain until our return." Will was not worried about the temporary loss of a shuttle craft, he had others at his disposal.

"Shouldn't be a problem, any authorisations needed for the route?" Zan asked as his gaze was caught by a team of techs tinkering under the open hulls of one of the fighters.

"The pilot will be taking with them search clearances and my approval to disembark. They shouldn't have any issues when they arrive at Earth." Will answered to fair question. He was aware that Zan didn't know of the mission but sudden departures like this mid mission often raised questions.

"When is the search team getting here?" Zan asked turning his attention back to the Captain.

"As soon as you make flight arrangements. Send them to me and I'll do the rest oh and include a flight path. They will need to stick to it." Will chipped in.

"Understood, I'll get right on it." Zan spoke then headed off. He knew it was not unusual for these things to happen, he had questions but what he needed to know vs what he was allowed to know always came into play.

Watching Zan walk away Will wondered how he was fairing on this new ship and a substantially larger department. Time would tell but he had high hopes.
