A Concerning Review

Mission: What Stalks The Night
Location: Counselor's Office

Amélie had completed the evaluation of the Marine and returned to her office, now, sitting at her desk, she stared blankly at the PaDD open in front of her, reviewing the notes she had made during her meeting.

The Corporal Cadi Draper was nothing short of uncooperative. She had been argumentative and defensive, maintaining that she had done nothing more than prove that she was the better marine. There was no acknowledgement in any way that her actions were out of line. There was no remorse for the extent of the injuries she had inflicted.

Everything that had come out of her mouth was nothing short of an ego driven diatribe against Corporal Colley.

The lack of hindsight and the lack of remorse was something that truly bothered Amélie. Yes, she was a skilled Marine, there was no doubt about that. But she had taken those skills, that hand to hand training, along with her smaller size, her agility and her flexibility and she had critically injured a fellow crew member.

She had shown not only a gross lack of self control and judgement but also a temper that she clearly struggled to reign in.

Momentarily Amélie found herself wondering how it was that Corporal Draper had even passed her preliminary evaluations. Surely there had been something? Anything that had indicated during initial medicals that she was prone to moments of mental instability.

If the mental instability was not diagnosed before joining, what had happened to make it come out now?

Sure, her past wasn't entirely all sunshine and fluffy kittens, but was there something that everyone else was missing? Was there something that had triggered Corporal Draper to react the way she did? Or was it simply just ego, arrogance and the need to prove that she was the best?

Amélie sighed and shook her head. "Computer, please add an addendum to the mental assessment of Corporal Cadi Draper to include the following. 'While this report is accurate to the best of my knowledge at this time, I will revisit this report again in the future if I am able to determine any other deciding factors that may be relevant to the situation at hand. Sign, Lieutenant Amélie D'Aramitz, Chief Counselor, USS Dreadnought. Date with todays date. Seal the report and add it to her medical file. Additionally, deliver this report to Captain Hood and Lieutneant Colonel Frost."
