Mission:
New Faces and Terror Beyond
Location: Hanger Bay. U.S.S Dreadnought
Having been informed of the situation and location they currently found themselves in Zan had work taken to make sure they were ready to launch the moment the order came through. This meant fighters fueled, systems checked and then checked again, munitions stored in standby lockers that were armoured and secure away from vital areas. Word had already filtered amongst the pilots about who was around, some looked out of viewports and saw the Negh'Var or the Cardassian ship. It didn't take much to put two together, trouble was brewing.
"Lt. Luthar Sir."
Zan turned to see a happy go chap young man standing smartly at attention. "Yes."
"I'm Ensign Steed, Jason Steed."
"Lt. Zan Luthar, but most just call me CAG." Zan questioned himself if he was behind the times, how could he miss a new pilot. "What can I do for you Ensign?"
"I'd like to train to be a fighter pilot."
"Really, what do you do now?" Zan asked wondering what has brought this turn of career.
"I'm part of security currently but I'd like to be a pilot."
"You are no doubt aware that you need to attend Flight Academy, pass that and then get certified on the various craft. Only then can you be deployed as an active pilot." Zan explained knowing full well what had to be done since he himself had to do it. "Why do you want to be a pilot anyway, life can be pretty short."
"My Father was a pilot during the Dominion War, he didn't come back. My brother tried to be a pilot but failed the final exam."
"Well I cant just slap you into a fighter without undergoing proper training, if you are serious about it I can get the ball rolling but you should probably speak to Commander Bawden since he is your boss first. You would have to wait until we return to Earth so that you can disembark the ship and attend the academy if you are accepted." Zan wanted to make sure he was covering his ass especially since the man worked in another department.
"Yes Sir, thank you."
Zan watched the man leave and himself returned to his office. He wondered what Amanda was doing, wondered if she wanted lunch or had any dinner plans.
