Mission:
What Stalks The Night
Location: Reactor Room
Xavier watched as James worked but also noted the injuries that he was sustaining. Granted they were things expected from a hands on engineer but this was different with the pressure on and the risks involved treatment would be needed. When the power seemed to become more stable there was an obvious sigh of relief from some, not from one. Then the screech was heard, it had to be what ever it was that Stefan had warned them about.
Armed with his medical kit Xavier walked over to where James was. "Here, let me have a look at those?"
Scraped knuckles, a cut to the brow, a bruise to the wrist, all things that an engineer could and would expect to earn during his duties but seldom bothered anyone with. "It's fine."
"Let's leave the medical diagnosis to the professional shall we?" Xavier joked trying to lighten he mood.
"Did you hear that?" James said taking a seat in one of the chairs nearby, hands out to let the Doctor look him over.
"Yeah, wonder if that was Stefan's demon he was terrified about when we saw him." Xavier put his kit on the desk and began treating James's injuries. "So, we good for now?"
"Power is stable but its fragile, the whole system is so damaged so it may work now but no sure bets on it staying that way." James spoke as he turned over his hand so Xavier could run a regenerator over his knuckles.
"Well if it helps us get out of here, I'll take it." Xavier replied.
"Thats the thing, restoring some power is one thing but the transporter console was damaged, I might have a better idea now we have power but its parts and access to use it. Seems Stefan is just a mid range staff member with the accesses his card gave earlier. We need to find who ever was in charge." James spoke as he ran the thoughts through his mind as to what needed to be done.
The injuries were minor, but in a situation like this an injury could slow someone, hinder an ability which could make all the difference at a critical time. "Lets take a look at that brow."
Letting Xavier turn and lift his head to give the man more light James sat and waited. "Your a medical professional, what's your take on all this?"
"Honestly I don't know, as a medical professional I'm ethically bound to do no hard and moral obligations to treat anyone, friend or foe." Xavier replied.
"You know what I mean, here, this place." James redirected the deflection Xavier had given.
"Depends what they were doing down here but I suspect we will find out, Stefan didn't seem to like what we did so maybe when we see whats going on, we will get some answers." Xavier answered after giving the question some thought.
"Yeah, who knows what kind of operations they were doing here, and all that gel too." James was not medical expert but that quantity of gel had to mean something.
"It has many applications but I'll admit, so much of it in one place seems off to me. I have only used the Gel a handful of times before for research and I had to account for everything. We transported so much here something has to be going on." Xavier said as he wrapped up the head wound on James. "Need anything for the headache?"
"Just something to take the edge off, need to keep a clear head if I'm to make heads or tails out of this."
Xavier pressed a hypo to James's neck and with the familiar hiss it was done.
"Should probably get going before what ever it is finds us." James said standing up ready to head out and explore these areas on the map that were veiled in secrecy.
