Mission:
Broken
Location: CFO's Office
Timeline: back post
Constantine relaxed in the chief's office, with her feet on the desk, chair tilted back, relaxing. She was busy looking over the usual shuttle logs, pilot schedules, and service logs for the auxiliary crafts. Unaware that a new CFO had boarded the Dreadnought.
The walls were decorated with a big Dream catcher that hung behind her and a few Native American woven blankets on two of the walls. A painting of southwestern desert showing a few towering Mesa on the fourth wall to her right when facing the door. There were a few replicated flowers and plants from the region of the south western desert area, in various Native American pottery designed to hold flowers and plants.
MIdori thought it was time for her to get settled in her office and make it her own. She had already acquainted herself with the ship, some of the crew and the bridge.
When Midori walked in, she was startled at first, not knowing that anyone would be there. It lasted only for a moment, "Comfortable?" She walked the rest of the way in and approached the desk.
Constantine looked up at the person that just entered. "Definitely. May I ask you, who are you?" Quickly signed off on the PaDD she held. She removed her feet from the desk and tilted forward to a more business like posture as she tossed the PaDD into the out basket.
Midori observed her for a brief moment before speaking, "I am Lieutenant Kimoto, the new Chief Flight Officer and I believe you are in my seat." She wasn't upset that she was in her seat. She was just giving her a hard time because she could.
Relief flashed crossed her face. Constantine stood up with a smile, "Third shift helm pilot and senior shuttle pilot, Acting CFO, Lieutenant Ravenloft." Standing up and moving around the desk. "Care for a tour? Or you want to get busy with..." waving a hand towards Data PaDDs awaiting to be read.
"Why don't you give me the tour first. I'm sure that those PADDs can wait a little longer." In her mind, she was already making changes to the room, "So, where might I find Lieutenant Herven? I would have assumed that she would be the acting CFO."
"Good question," Ravenloft spoke thoughtfully. "Only time I see her is for shift change on the Bridge. And occasionally about the ship when I need to confer with her." Leading Kimoto from the CFO's offices and down the hallway to the in ship manned transporter. "Two Bridge." Looking at the crew manning the transporter as she stepped on the transporter disc.
"Oh, okay. Then I'll catch up to her later. I would like to have a department meeting at some point." She did the same as Ravenloft.
After the inter-ship transport, appearing in a similar alcove as the previous one they just left. Only difference was deck level markings and directional signs pointing to the conference room and the bridge. "This about the closest you're going to get to the bridge via inter-ship transport." Constantine spoke.
Leading the way onto the Bridge. It was similar to many other large ship Bridge layouts. "Have a look around," Ravenloft spoke in a lowered volume, but still distinctly heard.
Constantine moved over to the helm and quietly conferred with the Noncom manning the station as she reached over the shoulder of the Noncom, pointing out something on the console screen. "Make sure you keeping track of the flight path and making compensation for the various gravitational deviances along the route. But not bad. Before you know it, you'll be getting your bridge helm certification to fly solo." Even though she lets most of the more advanced pilots fly solo without certifications.
Midori looked around, soaking in the sights, size and sounds of the bridge. When Ravenloft started talking to the Noncom, she looked over his other shoulder to see what she saw. Midori chuckled to herself, remembering those times at the helm.
Midori introduced herself to the bridge crew then returned to Ravenloft's position, "It's a lot bigger than I remember." She was on one this size before but only once, "Very nice."
Midori watched the Noncom for a moment, "Do you have a lot of uncertified pilots?" On the ship she transferred from, there were only a few.
Ravenloft looked at Midori as she stepped away from the on-duty helmsperson. "I do. I teach various crews to fly main ship and auxiliary crafts in my off-time hours. Ones that get certified start to man regular shift and act as back up in emergency situations. We have a few who are part of the Fighter Wing when their duties allow them to. Plus it frees me up to get Departmental Admin stuff up to date. Schedules, reports, maintenance updates on auxiliary crafts."
Midori nodded, "Well, I'll be taking some of those duties off you. You tell me what you want to continue doing and I will make it happen."
"Shuttle bays are pretty impressive." Ravenloft turned to face the exit to leave.
"Okay." She began, "I only saw one of them briefly.
"We can go to the office, yet needed to pay a visit to the shuttle bays to see if several of our shuttles is finished with their services and get the report. It seems that our Auxiliary Crafts are forgotten till needed." Ravenloft spoke as she exited the bridge into the corridor. "If you want to see the helm schedule its in the computer accessible. You'll notice that I'm on third schedule and prefer it."
"Okay, I'll remember that. Thank you." Midori smiled.
