Mission:
New Faces and Terror Beyond
Location: Snyder's Quarters
Everything went from normal to chaos getting things ready for the away mission that the Captain had briefed people about. As expected the marines would be doing something they were trained to but the target was unique thats for sure. Sam had made sure her gear was ready to go, packed her backpack, hand held pack, prepared her rifle at the range and hand phaser. Even went to Sickbay to pick up some additional med kits for the troops just in case. Not knowing how long they would be expected to be there she packed heavy. Hope for the best, plan for the worst and that is exactly what Sam did.
With dinner on the cards with Annabelle she grabbed a shower and with the use of a curler added some extra curls since for a while now she'd been debating on doing something with it, what exactly was known still but something over nothing at least. She changed into a short sleeved wrap dress and barefoot. Plates were out and ready with cultery and glasses to suit. She was not sure what to have for dinner so decided to kill that bird by preparing a few dishes that could be eaten alone or joined with the others if chosen to. Red and white wine for drink and icecream for dessert.
All she had to do now was wait for her dinner guest to arrive.
Annabelle wear a nice chiffon dress that had spaghetti straps and showed a bit of cleavage. Her hair was loose and neatly framing her face with a light touch of mascara and sandals. She turned a few heads as she made her way to Snyder's quarters. She took notice of the activities of the Marines as she entered the Marine Section. Soon she rang the announcer to Major Snyder's quarters.
"Come in." Sam called from behind the kitchen counter. She saw Annabelle and smiled. "I hope the men didn't give you too much trouble looking like that." She was sure someone would or at the very least be gossiping about it with the others in the barracks.
"I wasn't sure what you were in the mood for so I made a small variety of things." Her hands were covered in sauce which explained why she didn't move to greet her.
"Anything you make with love, is always good." Annabelle closed the distance between them and kissed Samantha lightly on the cheek. "What ever it is. It smells good. As for the men. They can admire, but can't touch." Smiling softly at Samantha.
"Oh really?" Samantha smiled back. "What about other women, I'm not the only one that turned heads at that gathering you know?" Samantha finished up placing the foods in plates or bowls as needed ready to be served.
"I know. You're a beautiful woman waiting to blossom." Annabelle helped to put the bowls of food on the table. "You need the time to shine than in that drab Marine uniform."
"Time to shine." Samantha laughed. "I can't shine any more with this blonde hair. A few times I've had to blacken it for a mission, you have any idea how hard it is to go back to this colour." With the last things on the table she sat down. "Shall we eat?"
"I bet!" Annabelle gave a soft laugh, "I lost a bet and had to change my hair color." She took her seat. "It was a pain to change back! So I shaved it all off and my mom blew a gasket." Looking at Samantha's hair. "I could darken it a bit so you whont have to change its color for field actions."
"I'll be ok, but since you mentioned it." Samantha looked at her plate of food for a moment. "I know my line of work is dangerous, comes with the territory, it takes a certian person to be with a a fleet member and something entirely different for a marine." Another pause. "Are you ok with that? I mean, given what I do and situations I get put in?"
Annabelle reached out and took Samantha's hand in hers. "I know this relationship is for the moment for the both of us. You being Marine, Fleeter, Specialist. Here today, gone tomorrow. I understand and I do really enjoy the time we're able to share together." Annabelle leans close and gives another soft kiss to Samantha. "I am fine with it and proud of you. You're doing something that I would never do. I'm more of the peace'nik who you would see picketing military intervention. I'm a teacher is what I excel at."
"So...I got to ask...is women you're preference or do both sexes appeal to you?" Samantha asked for many reasons and mostly because she always thought herself as a typical woman but Annabelle has done something to broaden her view to include women, a view she never had before. "I um, ask because I didn't really ever see myself...me with...another woman and....yeah I just not sure what to expect, or anything really. I doubt there is a manual for any of this."
"No, there is no manual for relationships for each is unique as the individuals. I've had relationships with both genders. Some were great, others were passing flings to sate the need and companionship." Annabelle spoke softly, looking into Samantha's warm eyes. "We just follow our heart and needs. A little experimentation only broadens our knowledge about ourselves and others. I know I can't provide what a man can. But I can be someone to share support outside normal things of shipboard life. To lessen loneliness of being alone after a hard day at work..." Then smiled warmly with a trace of lust. "..and pleasures of intimacies."
"You should probably expect the expectation of your attendance to functions with me once it sinks in with the troops." No doubt Winters had already started that little snippet amongst the ranks but it was something that couldn't be kept hidden forever so why bother trying. "Colonel Frost seems interested in meeting you."
Annabelle looked dreamily for a moment, "He is a handsome man. I was sure he would've made his move on you. I'd like to meet with him." Annabelle grasped Samantha hand. "But I am glad we hooked up together." Giving it a loving squeeze.
"He's my boss, he couldn't even if he wanted to." Samantha replied. "Though, if you think he's handsome, why didn't you make a move?" She asked.
"We don't travel in the same circles. And I'm probably just another face aboard the ship he has to deal with in emergencies. Or hinder his troops." Annabelle smiled at Samantha. "I've found you." She looked down at her used plate and smiled. "Wow. You sure know how to cook. The food was delicious!"
"Better than field rations believe me. Don't tell anyone though, if the troops found out then they would bury me with wants of cooking for them." Samantha gathered the plates and cutlery. "What about you, do you cook or go with what you know?"
"Depends on my mood. I experiment around if time permits. Mostly its the instant foods when I'm alone." Annabelle smiled as she leaned against the table with her forearms resting on the table. "Or eat out with friends in Ten Forward." Annabelle watched Samantha move gracefully about, while keeping eye contact.
"I'll spare you the horror that is eating with the troops, it can be a nightmare at times." Samantha spoke as she placed the plates in the replicator to be dealt with. "Some are ok, but if we are deployed then we learn from Basic that wolfing ones food down can make a lot of difference if time is short." She sometimes wondered how she kept a figure with that routine in the field. "Good to sit down at a table though and eat."
"I'll make sure that you do, when you can that is." Annabelle watched Samantha. "I see being active helps out a lot. You could miss a few days of exercise and still be in shape. Where I would just balloon up." She puffed out her cheeks and slumped a little that gave her the illusion of being overweight. Then knowing that she faced little ruffians that were crew's children kept her pretty active as is.
Samantha smiled, never really thought about kids, treated the service like family and it provided everything, mostly. The smile slowly faded. "I'm being deployed tomorrow, ground clearance mission. Couple of days at most I'd think." Samantha left out the dangers and the issues she knew from the briefing but Annabelle wasn't cleared to know them.
"You get all the luck! While I stay aboard the ship." Annabelle stood up and moved to hug Samantha, "Be safe. I'll keep home fires lit." Speaking with concern as she hugged Samantha to herself. "Don't take any unnecessary chances. That what the troops are for." She rested her chin on Samantha shoulder as she hugged Samantha.
"Risks are part of the uniform sadly, some more costly than others." Samantha replied as she held Annabelle. "I should be back soon, seems a simple assignment but we all know how they turn out."
"Still be careful," Annabelle lightened the hug so she could pull back some to look Samantha in the eyes. "I love you a lot and don't want to see anything bad happening to you."
"I'll do my best." Samantha spoke knowing it was all she could do. Every mission was a risk but that was part of the uniform and she was prepared for that. "Still hungry or are you done?"
"I'm hungry for you." Annabelle spoke a bit husky. She leaned forward and gave a soft caressing kiss to Samantha's lips. "The meal was delicious."
"Thank you." Samantha smiled at the compliment of the food. "So what would I be, pre-dessert or dessert itself?" She smiled and she gently held Annabelle. "Tonight will probably be my last night on board until the mission is done......did you want....to stay the night?"
"Dessert and nightcap," Annabelle spoke as she lowered her arms till her hands were resting on Samantha's hips, With body still lightly pressed up against Samantha.
Annabelle had unfastened the dress that Samantha wore when she lowered her hands down. She resumed lightly kissing Samantha, moving from lips to just below ear and behind the jawline. "Mmmmmmm..you smell delicious."
"Flattery gets you places." Samantha smiled. She felt free with Annabelle, probably thats why she was taking to this easier than she expected to but Annabelle was kind, considerate that this was new for Samantha and worked slowly and comfortably with her during this time.
Annabelle eased the dress off of Samantha as she worked her way down with soft kisses and caressing licks. She took her time in letting Samantha her intent as she also caressed Samantha. "Should we move to the bed? or the sofa?"
Samantha could only smile and in reply she let her mind and body decide.
