Mission: Not All Changes Are Welcome.
Location: Jeffries tube 271, Deck 20.

Fire blossomed in the muscles of her leg, and she strangled a scream by sheer force of will. Her will was stronger than the pain, but rage pulsed red hot through her veins until everything she saw was hazed with red. That sparked a pounding in her head that was almost worse than the fire in her leg.

She had been top 2% of her class, she shouldn't have to deal with this bullshit. Ignoring Daddy's money and position entirely and just focusing on her- Kelsey Anelyse Vatev and her perfect scores at the academy. Daddy would help her, all she had to is make a plea to the admiral to make his princess not work so hard.

First the Bird was the Chief, and she, Kelsey hadn't even been considered. THAT had been infuriating enough, just to be passed over, and she'd spent many an hour barely coherant with rage at the injustice of it. When it was announced that the Chief spot was to go to a civilian Doctor from beyond the Delta quadrant whose species was barely a known entity was insulting to all of them. Every last human in Starfleet should be up in arms about the breach not only in policy, but in sense! Vatev had had to go to the academy, bust her ass for years and they just walk around giving the keys to a ship like this to an untested, untried Civilian? The thought had her chest heaving again and she ground her teeth without any conscious thought about it. The creak of tooth against tooth, forced her to stop and focus on unclenching her jaw. Not, that a broken tooth or two would hurt her in any way-it simply took away from the image of utter perfection.

The new CEO that she'd been overjoyed to hear about, thinking that maybe she'd move up in the world when he arrived. When He was found to be a she, it was of course a letdown. She was female, which was both bonus and letdown. Letdown because Kelsey's charms didn't work on her. The engineer was no great admirer of the other women of the ship, and she certainly wasn't going to put herself out there like THAT. God help her if Ms. Quinn took her up on it. Kelsey shuddered, muttering a curse under her breath as she continued to put the EPS conduit back together, reconnecting the broken circuit that had shocked her. Ms. Quinn, was just as lazy as the men shed dallied with and to add insult to injury was letting the Chief Medical Officer tickle her fancy while they were on duty. It was disgusting.

She walked slow almost lazily through the corridors to reach their quarters keeping a pleasant smile hovering on her lips. All eyes were on her as she wandered the corridors, as they should be. Everyone should pay attention to the things of beauty in the universe and she fully included herself among that number.

"You don't know what's coming, any of you" Kelsey muttered angrily as she forced herself not to limp. "You'll regret not giving me my due."
