Mission: Ethics, Morals & The Prime Directive.
Timeline: Backpost.

Bianca stood with a tiny smile on her lips as she watched Colonel Frost tear down the hallway and disappear from sight. "I've got to give him credit, he can move." With the entertainment over for the moment, the officers around dispersed, except for a young comms officer and Sam.

"Yeah, it's stopping him that's the problem." Sam knew firsthand that once Jack was on course, it was safer for all to just step aside.

"So what's the proper protocol when your Colonel's Significant Other has a baby?"

"I suspect he wont be reporting for duty for a few days, then after that, who knows. Paternity leave maybe but it's Jack, who knows with that man." Sam was happy for Jack, happier still that not only was he here for the birth but assigned once again to the same ship.

"Acacia is still unaware that they are both on the same ship." she answered conspiratorially, a smile on her full lips. "He might be well served by that paternity leave."

"Acacia might actually make him take the time off. Heaven knows he could do with it. Before being assigned to the ship again he was keeping himself busy, which means he was probably overworking himself." Sam replied. Sam with her arm motioned down the ramp and towards her own office.

"What about you, settling in?"

"About as well as I am able to. It's nice to be with friends in Sickbay, I've served with Acacia before, aboard the Leviticus. That was quite some years ago, just after my accident but it was a good posting nonetheless."

"It will be interesting to see how things change now that he's going to be a Father." Though Sam doubted there would be any, Jack had lived up to his nickname for decades, a newborn was doubtful to change that.

"You might be surprised, but we shall see. " Bianca chuckled and raked her fingers through her long hair, which had escaped the ponytail, and needed taming again.

"I'll have to make some arrangements with the command staff so that his absence doesn't cause to many disruptions. Maybe even speak to the Captain about it so that I am briefed on things as well." That way at least one or both would be in the know should something happen or orders come through.

"I can facilitate that, if you'd like. He's been officially notified of his Chief Medical Officer's lack of capacity at this moment, and I am sure he can do the math."

"Oh that I don't doubt." Knowing the Captain would instantly be informed of anything that would impact any member of the crew, especially those of his senior staff. Walking into Sam's office she saw the mess she'd left when she came out earlier. "You will have to forgive the mess, I don't usually have guests." Most were intercepted by her assistant.

Her eyes flickered from the desk, to the piles of PADD's and the spare set of uniform accoutrements on the back of the chair. Her eyes flickered back to Sam and her smile was soft "Which part of it are you apologizing for? Are offices in use supposed to be neat and orderly?"

"Well I try and keep mine so, just because I'm a marine doesn't mean I have to be as messy as one, that said though, with all the prep that's been going on it's been hectic trying to keep things in line having to command so many marines again." Sam replied as she walked to a window that permitted her to view the training floor and its many areas dedicated to various activities.

A snort of amusement answered that statement, and her dark eyes followed the blonde's movements through the office. She did follow her when she stopped at the window to gaze alongside her. "I think I'm glad to only be a doctor, now."
