Mission: Let That Be Your Last
Location: Sickbay

Jack's message rang in her head, he was right and she knew it, she couldn't hide from what happened and had to face it. The combat medic had done a good job making sure any bruising was dealt with so leaping into the shower she made herself clean, washed her hair and made sure she'd look her best. Even as she did this, she wasn't sure it would work and after what happened she didn't know if Bianca would ever come back. Once she was finished, she dried and brushed her hair in some form of order, leaving it down so her blonde locks framed her face. Then she pulled on a dress, hoping that it wasn't too much but enough to at least cheer up Bianca in any degree. She slipped on a pair of flats for comfort and then left for Sickbay.

Bianca was tucked into a bed in a section of sickbay that was made up of private rooms. Her voice was rough and would take some time to heal, but the damage done to her throat had been immediately corrected by a sympathetic Acacia. The bruising was starting to come through, and she looked very much like she'd been beaten. She would for a time, and she rested on the arm she normally slept on, eyes still swollen and red.

Sam wasn't expecting a very welcoming welcome considering she'd beaten one of the medical staff on board, there were some rules that just we not crossed, beating the med staff was one of them. She walked into Sickbay after the doors opened and the intensity of what she was feeling shot up, she almost couldn't look at anyone in fear of the eyes that would cut her apart for what happened. She couldn't even muster up the Major here, that shield was down good and proper, she was just Sam now.

Acacia was there, in the alcove next to Bianca's room and she murmured "I was wondering when you'd appear." it was calm, and there was no judgement there. Sam would remember when she'd carried similar bruises and a split lip courtesy of a nightmare of Jack's.

The words stung but Sam was expecting it. She had to fight a wince from them but knew she'd deserved every one of them. She nodded, she knew she should have come sooner, Jack made that very clear in his bout with her.

"Are you alright to do this now?" her soft question was probably not what Sam was expecting.

"I did this, me being alright isn't a factor, she has to be." Sam replied, she knew not everyone would be as welcoming as Acacia was for what happened and she took it as punishment for what happened, even if she didn't mean for it to happen.

"You both have to be." Acacia corrected quietly, her eyes closing in the memory she held of Jack's misery at doing it to her. Even accidentally, that kind of violence can change a couple. "It's not an easy thing to go through for either party. You can go in though."

Nodding she knew it was crunch time, she had to face the results of what she did even if she couldn't remember it all clearly. She turned towards the room where Bianca was, paused, doubt crept in visible on her face though even that was masked by the loose curls. Taking a breath she pressed the panel for the door to open, slowly peeking in by her head only.

Bianca startled at the sound of the door and turned bloodshot bruised eyes to the doorway. When she focused on Sam, and it took a moment, those eyes closed and a pair of tears tracked down her cheeks.

Sam looked at Bianca seeing the damage she'd beaten onto her. Sam looked at Bianca again then to Acacia. "I should go." Seeing the tears screamed to her that was all her fault and her presence wasn't welcome.

Acacia moved to stand in between Sam and the door, and she nodded to Bianca who hadn't moved except to wipe away the tears. Pointing at her patient, and indicating that she was not going to allow Sam to flee from her responsibilities. Acacia then took a single step backwards and allowed the door to close giving them privacy.

Sealed in the room Sam turned back to face Bianca. The silence was deafening, she'd done this to her and she slowly stepped towards the bed. "I'm sorry. I'm soo sorry." Even as the words left her mouth they just seemed insufficient from what she did.

Bianca started again when she heard her voice, and forced her eyes open. She was trembling but she raised her eyes to Sam's face and saw something...vulnerable there. Her tongue slid over her dry lips and made them glisten. "You're...really here?"

Sam nodded. "Yeah. I'm here." She walked to the side of the bed that would make it easier for her to see Sam without having to lean or turn to see her.

Bianca sucked in a breath, and swallowed against a lump in her throat that was entirely in her mind. She snaked her hand out from under the blanket and brushed her fingertips against Sam's hand. Sam had bruises too she noticed.

Sam felt the fingers touch her hand and with a foot she hooked the leg of a chair to bring it closer. She sat in it and then delicately held Bianca's fingers. Sam leaned low and rested her forehead against Bianca's fingers, her golden hair crashing about her face.

Bianca hesitated for a moment, and then stroked her fingers through Sams gorgeous golden curls. She smoothed the soft luminous curls and another tear slid down her bruised cheek.

"It was an accident." Sam spoke. "A nightmare." Not that it made what happened right but it was at least the truth on both counts.

"I know" she whispered her voice rough with emotion. She had been terrified, that her love was going to kill her. "I..know you didn't mean it exactly...You can't...help your subconscious."

It didn't make it any better. "Since the battle, when the house collapsed on me." Sam tried to explain. "It's haunted me since, I thought that was the end."

Her sigh was soft and scented like peppermint "Is that why you didn't want me to see you in sickbay?"

"Yes." Sam answered. Sam didn't want Bianca to see her in that state and in turn, Sam didn't want that moment of her in critical condition to be the last thing she saw if it was the end, ruining that memory.

She made a sound, non-comittal but hurt sounding little explosion of air from her as she set her head back down on the pillow. "Scared?" she asked softly "I would have never gotten over it if you died and I hadn't gotten to say goodbye because you didn't want me there."

"I didn't want you seeing me like that. I wanted you to remember me as I was." Sam replied. She wanted her to remember her as the Major, Sam, not the broken body impaled on debris.

"Are we more than the sum of our injuries?" she asked quietly

"That's hard when I'm responsible for the injuries you have now." Sam answered.

"Yes...you are." she said softly not sure what else to say "And yet, the question is still valid."

"We are." Sam spoke, as difficult as it was to say that given the latest round of injuries that were inflicted.

"Good." she murmerred as she shifted over in the bed and sipped her water. "Don't ever tell me how I will feel or remember something again. I make that choice, not you."

It tore Sam up that she'd done what she did. Even silently tears rolled down her cheeks as she was supposed to love this woman and yet she put her in Sickbay.

"Climb in here" she whispered making room for her in the sickbay bed.

Sam slipped off her flats and grabbed her dress gathering it in her hand, lifting it to thigh level she perched herself on the edge of the bed and lifted her legs up.

Frustration had the slightly taller woman wrapping her arms around Sam from behind and molding her body to her back. She rested her chin on Sam's shoulder.

Sam's hands lifted to hold Bianca's as she spooned her. It was comforting but the emotional damage would linger for a while and that would be something both of them would need to work through. Jack may have helped, Sam only hoped it didn't have to hurt so much for her to act.

"Are you done with doing this all on your own?" she asked quietly "Because I can't do this life without you, but if you're going to continue this I can't share anything...I'll...I don't know what."

"Yeah." She spoke, she needed Bianca, wanted her in her life. "I'm done, I want us." She replied holding onto her arms.

"Good." she replied softly and then whispered into her ear "You look delicious."

"Just for you." Sam replied with a smile, glad that her effort had been noticed through everything. "I got a lot of looks on the way here."

Bianca chuckled and nipped her neck softly. She had no doubt that her beautiful marine had gotten more looks than even she noticed. "Lay down marine..."

Sam rotated so that she was laying on her back, Bianca pressed to one side of her. She shifted the bedsheet a little but most of it remained on Bianca. "Better?" Sam spoke suspecting that Bianca just wanted to look at her.

"Yes" Her dark eyes swept from her Marine's bare feet to her breasts barely contained in the dress she was wearing and something warmed in her. "You know what I remember when I look at you?"

"What?" Sam smiled as she watched Bianca's eyes roam over her.

Bianca leaned in and whispered something into her ear.

A blush washed over Sam's face as she remembered that moment. A day of report writing, updates and reviews and then Bianca came along. Sam still had that broken padd in her desk drawer as a reminder. "I do remember."

Bianca's fingertips traced the blush from her nose to the elegant curves that were showing off for her in the dresses embrace.

Sam watched those fingers move down her body, her face, her neck and chest. Bianca was right though, Sam found her very sexy and as such often found herself getting aroused by her. More so than any before. "Well...we have both been busy."

She pressed their lips together and then moved so that she could access all of her lover. Lifting her hand to her lips she pressed kisses to her fingertips, kissing each one and allowing her tongue to slide over each in turn. This hand had hurt her, and this was one step in regaining her comfort with her partner.

Sam pressed into the kiss, her mouth opening with the need for this moment, her tongue seeking Bianca's as they kissed. Sam rotated a little towards her so that she could feel as well. She watched as Bianca kissed her hand. Even in medical garb Bianca still looked good.

Her forehead rested on Sam's and she gazed into those gorgeous blue eyes. Bianca's hand cradled her cheek and gently brushed the tears from earlier away. She kissed full lips first, then the hollow of her throat, then the swell of one breast. Punctuating each kiss with a word she whispered "I don't give up what is mine easily Samantha."
