Mission:
The Hand That Rocks The Babe
Location: Dreadnought : The Dive
The chosen place was off the main corridor that everyone used to pass the various shops and eateries for those prefer to eat other than the mess. Tucked in a side cross corridor where hidden shops that do exclusive business. Not to mention the hidden gems of shops that sold exclusive crafted items by those worked on the ship. Or significant others of the crew open little shops to sell homemade craft items and baked goods.
Not too many people, crew, passengers, dependents and guest to the ship, used the corridor except when running late and needed a shortcut to get places, knew of its existence and where it led in either direction. Some could say it was a back-alley place where hardcases like to hang out to relax in, rather be in places where you had to be respectful, dress properly and always being watched for the slightest transgressions.
Samanthia walked slowly through the place around the cargo crates that were stacked neatly in the center of the room. Sizing the place, she figured at least the place could hold 25 customers comfortably, a bit crowded at about 30. But with the furniture it would cut down on the occupancy. As she looked over the main room deciding the bar counter would go to block the way into the storage area. At most would slow down a determined person making the attempt to gain access to allow the bartender and bouncers time to respond.
Glancing at the crates, Samanthia knew what was in them. Holoprojectors, beverages and types of food that could be eaten from the bags or placed in bowls or to be saved for later. Even a home computer that would be independent of the ship's systems but linked to the holoprojectors for the area where the patrons would be. She wandered into the back room that was going to be used for storage and a little section for her business office.
"Well, it aint gonna get done by itself ..." She muttered as she got to work unpacking the crates and moving the beverages and food crates into the back room. "This is gonna be interesting. Back on a ship of the line!" She muttered softy as she removed her blouse, exposing her silk top. "Maybe it was better to stay on the star base..."
After several hours of hard work, majority of the crates were in the storage room stacked by what was in them. Wires and holoprojectors scattered all about the main room. Samanthia stood there in thought as she looked at the linked holoprojectors and the cable running into the storage. She scrunched her face a bit, and relaxed. She would need help in getting the projectors into place.
"Hu-hmmmm... wonder if Ship's engineers could send me some help." She picked up her drawing of where the projectors were going to be placed and the interconnecting cable would go. She walked back into the back room to where she had set up her office. Placing the drawings in a folder on her makeshift cargo crate desk.
She picked up her inter-ship communicator and sent in the request to have a one of the ship's engineers to stop by and help her install the holoprojectors. She smiled at the thought of using holoprojectors emitters would sure save on furniture expenses.
