Mission: New Faces and Terror Beyond
Location: Cargo Bay/Medical
Timeline: Current - After Services No Longer Required.

Lieutenant Commander Billie Jean Reign grunted and reached to tap her combadge to call for help before she remembered her arm was broken. She brought her other hand up and tapped it, but there was no activating chirp that told her a channel had been opened. The odds were good she wasn't even in the Dreadnought's personnel files yet and had no access.

Still, she could call for medical assistance, which she did. "Is anyone here?" she called out in the huge cargo bay. Surely there had to be someone in there, and the computer would soon send out an intruder alert and pinpoint her location. All she could do now was wait.

A Deck Chief saw the woman on the ground and immediately informed Sickbay and Security, as well as grabbed a phaser because of this unknown individual.

Dr Patrovski had not been back long on the Dreadnought since the rescue effort, many of his staff were injured, funny how those he tried to help ended up harming the help in the end. He ran to the Cargo Bay, medkit in hand looking a little rough around the edges.

When the large doors opened he gave a look around and saw only containers all secure and stacked. He heard someone call to get his attention and then a pointed arm to guide him, that was when he saw the problem. "Hey, take it easy, lay still." Xavier called kneeling beside the woman and pulling out his medical tricorder.

"Hairline fracture of the Radius, tearing of the Interosseous Membrane, chipped Olecranon Process." Xavier moved the scanner down her body and discovered more injuries. "Broken Fibula, separation of the Fibula head from the Lateral Condyle." Now that he knew the problems, he could help with them.

Opening his medkit he pulled out a sedative to help with the pain. "This will help but I need you to calm down and be still." He pressed it to her neck. "Can you tell me what your name is?"

The Commander looked up at the handsome man in a teal collared uniform came up and scanned her. "Reign, Billie Jean. Lieutenant Commander," she said. "Can you get that trunk off my legs, please?" she asked him. "It kind of hurts."

She sighed as the painkiller kicked in and gave a lopsided smirk before she glanced at the trunk on her legs. It was about three meters long, two meters thick and two meters wide. "If you'd be so kind, Doctor...."

"I would, but moving it might cause more damage. Instead I'm going to beam you to Sickbay and treat you there." Xavier pocketed his tricorder and tapped his badge. =^= Patrovski to Sickbay, two to sickbay, medical emergency. =^=

Sickbay

As soon as they arrived Xavier sprang into action spouting injuries and other medical information his team needed to know. Delicately the patient was taken into the OR, stripped and put into a medical gown while everything they would need was gathered.

"Commander, we are going to treat your injuries, I don't have your medical file to hand. Are you allergic to anything, adverse reactions, medical conditions that I should be aware of no matter how small?" Last thing Xavier wanted was to treat the woman and do something that medically was fine but might kill her because of the unknown.

"No, just a lot of broken bones, burns, the usual for a Security officer," BJ winced. "Of which I'm supposed to be here. First day on the new assignment and I already have multiple broken bones. I hope this isn't a sign."

Xavier had to wonder if there was something causing bones to be brittle but perhaps she was right, risks of being a Security officer. Xavier first had to treat the injuries, his oath meant he could do no harm and regardless of her unique entrance on board he had little doubt the Captain would have questions. "Ok, we are going to sedate you now so we can treat you. Everything should take about an hour. I'll be here when you wake."

He picked up the waiting sedative on the roller table stacked with devices. "Ready?"

"Ready," she said and closed her eyes.

One Hour Later

Xavier pressed a hypospray to her neck to rouse her from the no doubt blissfully comfortable sleep she was presently enjoying. Treatment went off without a hitch, damage was repaired but she'd feel a little stiff for a few days especially in her leg.

Commander Billie Jean Reign opened her ass and blinked; there was no pain in her arm or leg now and she looked around, moving just her eyes in case she was in a medical forcefield to keep her immobile. She spotted the doctor who's name she still didn't know and offered a smile. "So, Doctor," she said. "What's the diagnosis? Am I going to walk, play piano or ever learn your name?"

Xavier smiled at the realisation that he'd not actually introduced himself. "Doctor Xavier Patrovski, or Xav if it is easier." He smiled. "Walk yes, play the piano, can't see why not and now you know my name." Ticking off all the boxes she outlined. "We repaired the damage, you will be a little stiff in your leg because of the damage done, I can give you a relaxant for it if you want it but I would suggest you take it easy for a day or two as the micro filaments still need time to bond."

"A few days?" BJ raised an eyebrow. "Xav, When is the last time you ever saw a Security person on their back for longer than they have to be. I survived The Pipeline. Make it twelve hours -- once I get settled in -- and I promise I'll lounge around in my quarters all evening after that. Sound good?"

If it was one thing Xavier didn't like, it was someone trying to barter the well being of a patient for less recovery time. "If you don't rest the micro filaments I put in wont bond properly, if they don't you will have a permanent limp. If that happens the only way to repair that damage would be to remove all of your Interosseous Membrane in the leg and replace it with synthetic fibres. That is a five month recovery time minimum. Then traction, that is four months minimum. Assuming all goes well of course. Fitness work up, 30 days...or...you could give me a minimum of 24 hours and see me after that for a check up review."

Xavier spoke. "Or I could keep you here for the few days, but I sing at night and I'm terrible at it."

"Okay, okay, I get it," she said as she eased herself off the table and was surprised that she was slightly taller than he was. "As long as the Captain knows I'm on downtime for twenty-four hours. I'm sure he'll be real pleased to hear that. Unless I can go to see him and then find my quarters." She tested her weight on her leg, then decided to sit down again when she felt how weak it was.

"I'll inform him." Xavier spoke with a smile. "If you want I can beam you to your quarters that I have arranged for you. Some rest, relaxation, I'll drop by for your check up instead of making you come here." He paused for a moment. "It's not often I make house calls."

"I may have something special for you when you do come if you can get my trunk beamed there, too," BJ said with a smile. "It's not often a doctor will leave sickbay for a new patient."

"Ill have it beamed there too." Xavier said smiling and making notes on a PADD. He handed over her work boots and what remained of her clothing after it was removed for a medical gown. "When ever you are ready." Xavier stood by a console to initiate transport.

BJ took her clothes and looked at the ones that had been cut away from her. "Looks like I need a new uniform, too. Thanks, Xav. Energize when ready."

One last smile and Xavier beamed her to what would be her new home on board and an interesting start at that.
