Mission: New Faces and Terror Beyond
Location: Planetside

Having just wrapped up his fifth operation of the day Xavier was exhausted. All around him wounded and staff were sleeping alike being run ragged by the demands of those injured. The extension to the medical building was welcome but more space meant more people and some simply sought shelter from the rain which only complicated issues. Security was also starting to be a problem as more and more people filed in space became a premium, trouble brewed as people refused to leave and that knocked on to tensions being raised.

Xavier was sleeping in perhaps one of the two rooms for Starfleet personnel, make shift beds came in the forms of bunks, table tops, the floor itself supported by pillows and even chairs made uncomfortable sleeping places.

People shouting and glass breaking woke Xaiver from his slumber with a shock, he raced out the door and saw Security fighting back civilians armed with sticks and clubs.

"What the hell is going on?" Xavier spoke to the nearest security officer.

"Rain is coming down pretty hard, more and more people are trying to get out of the rain. We asked them to leave but they refused. One man threw a punch and it started from there."

"What about the supplies?" Xavier asked worried at the fighting going on.

"Secure but can't be sure it will stay that way for long."

Xavier knew that the locals severely outnumbered Starfleet here and a contingent of marines were away to another location. Running into the sleeping quarters again where they had a communications device set up.

"Dr Patrovski to Dreadnought, please respond emergency." Only static replied. "Dreadnought this is Dr Patrovski declaring an emergency, we are under attack, the locals are overwhelming the security forces and it's unknown how long we can hold out for. We need reinforcements and evacuation. Dreadnought please respond."

Having heard nothing Xavier grabbed a phaser, the mob was wild and they didn't care the colour of the uniform and Xavier knew that, he would have to defend himself. Thanks to Bradshaw transporter buffers had been installed around all of the rooms with equipment and supplies. He was unaware that the remaining shuttles that were at the LZ had already started beaming the supplies on board. There was no escape, the exits were packed with angry civilians. The limited security forces that were present could only bottle neck the flow of angry people so much.

Suddenly a gust of wind could be felt because one of the security team used his weapon to cut a hole in one of the shelter panels. "Come on Doc, lets go."

Rain greeted him with a light breeze but it was safer at least out here than inside. It made him worry for the members of his team trapped inside. Help came in the form of two shuttles, one of which was barking orders instructing everyone to leave the area while the other was hovering on the room, hovering because the structure couldn't support the weight of a shuttle upon it. Suddenly it stopped raining, that was because a shuttle had activated it's shield. Xavier could understand why, a shield would prevent more people from entering the hospital.

Off to the right the Marine CP was engaging the civilians, multiple phaser rifle shots being fired with pinpoint accuracy one might expect from trained marines. "Pilot, signal Lt Luthar, we need him back here." 6 shuttles came down and 6 would be needed to leave, 1 was missing.

"Get on board Doc, we need to get you to the ship." Xavier heard the pilot call over the commlink.
