Mission: Unknown Life, Unknown Dangers
Location: CEO's Office & Main Engineering

James looked at the console for a moment as his mum and dad both glared at him for a moment. Finally he found the words that he was thinking of saying, "Look mum, da', I was here abou' two weeks ago I saw no need in beamin' down." He sipped on the coffee, "An' we're goin' to be leavin' soon."

He sighed feeling his face flush to a deep red, "Sorry mum." He said and shook his head, "But, ya coulda come and seen meh too ya know?" James returned a softer version of the glare, "But, I'm afraid we will be leavin' soon."

=/\="True... But, next time ya be in the system..."=/\=

James heard the voice of his mum as it slowly drifted away into silence. "I know... I know, an' I will visit ya." He grinned as his flesh returned to its normal shade. "I love ya mum and da'." And, he blew a kiss at the monitor.

He heard them say in unison as they waved and the screen blinked out. The engineer sighed heavily as he leaned back in the chair as the Starfleet logo appeared on the screen in front of him. He spun around in the chair and stood up grabbing the coffee and stepping out into main engineering.

James had his hands interlocked behind his back as he walked out to the pool table where some of his junior officers were coordinating the repair and resupply efforts. "Status update?" He remarked.

"Engines are back online and we have the warp core at maximum power. All engineering supplies have been transported to the ship and, our department is ready to go. Also personnel from engineering are back on board from the planet."

The engineering chief nodded, "Thank ya." He turned and walked over to the primary warp core and looked up at it watching as it pulsed blue along its center. He turned and faced one of the Ensigns, "Ensign come 'ere would ya?"

"Sir?"

James looked up and down at her before facing the core once more, "Inform the rest of the department tha' they are to submit to radiation screenings in sickbay." He sipped the coffee in his hand noticing that it wasn't nearly as warm as it had been.

"Understood."

He watched as she walked away to transmit the message to the engineering department. He then reached up and activated his communicator, "Commander O'Connell to the Bridge. Engineerin' is ready an' you have warp capability jus' as soon as the Cap'n' is ready for departure."

James sighed under his breath, "Commander O'Connell out."
