Mission:
Unknown Life, Unknown Dangers
Location: Chief Engineering Officer's Office; USS Dreadnought
James stepped out of main engineering for a moment into his office and, approached his replicator, "Coffee black." He said and watched as the dark blue mug appeared with a slight billow of steam from the dark liquid that was contained inside of it.
He grabbed it and took a sip before stepping outside of his office when one of his junior officers approached him. "How ca' I help ya?"
"This was delivered to you from Commodore Hood."
James smiled, "Thank ya." He took the PADD that the officer had handed him and turned inside of the office. He switched it on and scrolled through the entire message. It appeared that a freighter had gone missing and the Dreadnought was slated to go track them down.
He sighed...
James placed the mug and the PADD on the desk and put his hands behind his back before interlocking his fingers. "Computer." He listened to the acknowledgment ding, "Bring up all da records o' maintenance on da freighter Civic an' display 'em on da monitor."
Working...
The Engineer walked around to the back side of his desk and pulled the chair out before sitting down. He picked up the mug and took another sip from it before sighing.
Files are on screen.
James began reading through them trying to find any indication that there may have been a mechanical issue. After a little more coffee and further reading he was both satisfied and disappointed at the same time. The freighter was in near perfect condition and, next he began to analyze for any type of potential systems failures.
Nothing...
But, he wanted to be thorough and thus continued to analyze the information. He shook his head because as far as he could tell the only real issue was that the freighter was coming due for a boron sweep. Besides that there was absolutely nothing there to suggest an issue.
