Mission: Unknown Life, Unknown Dangers
Location: Hanger Bay

Zan was in his fighter pulling on his helmet and activating the various systems as he briefed his officers and pilots as to the plan. "Alright people, watch the spacings on launch I don't want a repeat close call like last time. Get to the sector assigned to you and await further orders. This is a simple perimeter establishment mission while the away team does its thing. I will remain close to flagship for CQR (Close Quarter Reaction) should anything happen."

His fighter completed final checks and his ground team gave the thumbs up. "Alright pilots, launch by numbers and take positions, keep comms clear and eyes open."

One by one the fighters launched and Zan was the last to do so, he circled the Dreadnought once as he observed the fighters heading off on his sensors but he was focused on the Freighter. At this stage the away team had only been on board but a few minutes at most and Zan closed the distance on it, lights on illuminating the outer hull. He relayed readings back to the Dreadnought but what he could see was hardly remarkable. As he roamed the outer hull lighting the vessel with lights he saw nothing but as he ventured towards viewports he thought he saw what appeared to be...growths of some sorts on walls and bulkheads, almost like vines.

Zan continued to circle around the ship looking through each viewport he could coming really close to the hull of the ship with his cockpit to get a good view. At no point did he see anything move, no lights, nothing.

"Everyone report in." Zan spoke knowing they should have all reached assigned locations by now, the only thing of note was debris from the freighter on sensors in sector 3.

Zan couldn't help but wonder what had happened on board, where was everyone, what was that stuff he saw on the walls?
