Mission:
Unknown Life, Unknown Dangers
Location: Marine Deck
Jack had sent word for the marines to assemble, they had to be briefed on the situation that arose on board and no doubt many already knew what was going on through the grape vine. Hood had ordered his department assist Security in securing the ship and the easiest option would be to split the ship in half between them. Jack would command the Marines from the operations room next to his office, he suspected Commander Reign would do the same from the Security office. What ever this 'thing' was, it was threatening the ship with the same outcome that befell the freighter. Jack was not prepared or willing to let that happen.
=^= Snyder, Frost. I'll be down in a moment, forget formation I just need everyone present. =^=
=^= Understood. =^= Sam spoke as she watched the troops gather in the large barrack room. What ever was happening on board it would take the entire crew coming together to fend it off. Sam hated these kinds of missions, often a foe that came at you head on, warrior to warrior but this...thing liked to sneak, hide and stalk.
Tyros had been standing with the rest of the marines. Like always he had a smile on his lips to match his optimistic, cheery attitude to life. The tall Traxian had formed in the semi-circle near the Major to wait orders. That was the thing about military affairs. It was short bursts of excitement that punctuated large layers of idleness. Still. He had been ordered to assemble and thus he did.
Jack walked out of his office with information in hand, the situation was messy and that was being optimistic. "Alright people, here it is straight up." He looked around at the gather marines. "As some of you know things have been screwed up on board, something has infected the ship, a sort of bio-organism." Jack announced.
"I've been requested to work with the security department to secure the ship, protect the crew, ensure the safety of the civilians on board and buy time while Engineering and Medical work on a way to stop what ever this thing is." Jack continued with a glance or two at his PADD.
"Information from Medical and Security reads as follows. Vine like structures of various sizes and lengths, quick, grabbing and lined with small barbs and a clear fluid. Medical informs me that all measures should be taken to avoid contact, so I don't want any heroes, nobody getting into a knife fight. If its too much then pull back and report in." Jack wanted to make that clear, he needed his men active, not dead or in Sickbay. "Anyone that comes into direct contact with it MUST, report to Sickbay without touching anyone else."
Jack paused for a moment. "What ever this thing is killed the entire crew of a freighter, the away mission reports make for a grim reading and we nearly lost the away team too. The Commodore wants to contain until others do what they need to. Work with Security officers, its not a competition so no showing off. Get the job done and stay alive to do it again tomorrow. Any questions?"
"Who's going to be the liaison with Security?" Sam asked, if they were to work with Security they needed comms, needed a plan, who was covering what, how many and where.
"I am. In the mean time, gather you weapons and armour for close quarters and lets get to work, split up by sections and sections by squads. You will receive directives as the situation develops so be alert." Jack answered Sam.
Sam listened to the answer, seemed straight forward enough. "Alright people, grab gear and move out, we have a ship to secure."
Jason watched everyone disperse to collect gear, what ever this thing was risked the ship and everyone on it so action had to be taken. He would need to closely work with Commander Reign but thankfully the earlier conversation broke the ice there and she encouraged closer interaction.
Seems like they were going to put that to the test.
