Mission: Unknown Life, Unknown Dangers
Location: Personal Quarters/Holodeck One
Timeline: Slight Backpost/Current

Cooper woke to the sound of a scream. He turned his head to Darron, who had a smile on his face. Seven years and he still got butterflies when he saw his partner, especially when he had that cheeky glint in his eye. He reached over and kissed him.

“Sounds like Miss Emily is awake.” Cooper said with a sigh and a smile on his face.

“Yeah, she is, I’ll get her, you stay in bed.” Darron replied and kissed him again. Cooper watched him go. He pulled the blankets over his head, knowing that their daughter would soon come running into the bedroom to jump on the bed. “Oi! Get back here you little ragamuffin!” He heard Darron call, a high pitched giggled answered and Cooper heard small footsteps running. Then a weight pounced onto the end of the bed followed by more giggling.

“Pappy, wake up.” Cooper let out an audible fake snore and rolled over. “Pappy!” Small hands shook his shoulders. “Daddy, why is Pappy still sleeping?” Cooper opened an eye and looked at the doorway, Darron had a big smile on his face and was watching the two of them.

“I don’t know Baby Doll, maybe if we make breakfast he will smell it and wake up.” Darron said to her.

“Okay Daddy, bacon and eggs will wake Pappy up.” She jumped off the bed and Cooper listened to her run towards the kitchenette.

After breakfast Cooper made his way to sickbay to start the day. He had just stepped foot in the door when he heard the CMO’s voice.

"Everyone evacuate Sickbay. Computer, erect a level 10 force field around this room." He took a few steps back. "And around myself. Inform the Bridge that Emergency Medical Quarantine protocols are in effect."

“Damn,” Cooper swore under his breath. “Okay people, everyone needs to go to Holodeck One, set up an emergency sickbay. I need a crash team and nurse to stay with the Commander for when he gets out. Got it?” He looked at the medical personnel and everyone nodded. “Good, let’s get going.” He led the remaining Medical team to the Holodeck. Injuries began as a trickle and turned into a flood of crew members.

Everything from bumps and scratches to broken bones and burns. The team worked hard. Cooper wondered and hoped that the Commander was alright. He knew the he was required here in the Holodeck instead of trying to help him so he busied himself with the injuries coming in.

He injected a crew member to sedate them. He had burns to the left side of his face and had been screaming in pain. They were becoming busier by the minute and Cooper didn’t want him upsetting those flooding in any more than they already were. He worked quickly, stopping the spread of burning flesh.

These were the moments that Cooper wished the safety protocols existed for real life, not just for the Holodeck. He had to carefully peel away the dead black skin on the mans face. He then assessed the skin underneath, he would have to stimulate the growth of his new skin to heal the crew member.

He looked around the Holodeck Sickbay, watching the team work, treating the injuries. He appreciated the fact that he had transferred to the Dreadnought under Xavier. He had trained his team well and Cooper hoped that he fit in with the team.
