Mission:
The Emerald Road
Location: Tactical Office
Hearing the request for Security to report to the Tactical office, BJ tapped her combadge. =^=On my way,=^= she said as she secured her terminal and headed out of the office.
It was a short trip to Tactical and she entered the office with a no-nonsense look on her face. "What can I help you with, Commander?" she asked.
"Commander Reign." Some mild relief that security had arrived was visible. "The Lieutenant here, Jack Brune. Just assaulted my officer here, Ensign Sally Deakin."
"Assault perhaps is a strong word." Jack attempted to edge in with his own interpretation."
"You started poking and pushing me when you didn't get what you wanted. Then tried to intimidate me by getting in my face." Sally retorted. "I'd call that, assault."
BJ looked at the Lieutenant and then at the much smaller Ensign female, then back at the Lieutenant. "So, do you think it's okay to poke and push smaller women just because you don't get what you want, Lieutenant?" she asked him in a cool voice.
"All I wanted was some information, how hard is that?" Jack replied. "I get we are in a tough spot but this department isn't the only one."
Mark stood there relishing the increasingly smaller size of the Lieutenant as he realised that he was in deep, deep trouble.
BJ advanced on the Lieutenant and reached out to poke him. "How hard it is, Lieutenant," she asked before she reached out to push him with her other hand. "to simply ask?"
"All I wanted, was information. I asked, it was important, I felt ignored so I got her attention." The Lieutenant answered.
"By pushing me around and sizing me up?" The victim Ensign spoke.
"The Lieutenant here has a complex, thinks hes better than everyone else, the next best thing to Starfleet. I've run into him before, as have a few of my work colleagues." Mark chipped in.
"If it was that important, Lieutenant, why did you not go to Commander Bawden instead of Ensign Deakin?" the Security Chief asked. "Is that what they taught you at the Academy? If you don't get an answer, to push and poke officers of lower rank?"
"Listen, this has all blown well out of proportion, far more than needed. All I need is information."
"Information which you don't need, you just thought you'd come in here stomping around my department, assaulting my staff just to make yourself feel important." Mark replied. "All the information you needed was logged in the system, you could have accessed it from where ever you came from without coming here."
"Can he go?" The young Ensign asked the taller Security Chief. "I have work to do and its better if hes not here." It was clear she was uneased by the ordeal.
"Get out and go wait by my office, Lieutenant," BJ told Brune and waited until he was gone before she looked back at the Ensign. "Do you want to press charges, Ensign?" she asked.
Sally nodded, while she didn't want to cause a fuss, she wasn't going to stand for what happened. "What do you need?" While Sally knew they were preparing for a fight, she would try to juggle that and anything the Commander needed.
"Fill out a report and turn it in to me by the end of day," BJ said in softer voice. "Include every detail you can think of. Lieutenant Brune will have the same opportunity. If any Security cameras recorded the incident, they'll be reviewed as well, However, the Lieutenant's behavior during my questioning indicates that he won't fair well."
For once Mark was glad that the whole thing was recorded because the ship was a test bed, so security was taken seriously. "You should be able to log in to the footage system." Pointing above the entry door. "I'll see that she gets that report to you." Mark was relieved it was over. "Sorry to have troubled you with this."
Sally spoke up next. "What about anyone that saw it?" She was sure at least three others did given the loud scene the Lieutenant caused.
"It's no trouble, Commander," BJ told Mark. "I'm here to serve and protect." She looked at the young woman. "Send them to me as well," she responded. "I'll take their statements as well."
"Done." Mark gave Sally a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "See, sorted. All in the Commander's hands now." Which was a good thing because Mark was done with him. He didn't envy the report that would be sent to the First Officer, assaults were never, ever taken lightly.
"Thank you Commander." Sally spoke slightly cheered up at the resolution of the ordeal.
"If anyone else gives you trouble from Security, let me know," BJ told Mark and Sally. "And I'll handle it personally."
Mark gave a nod. "Alright people, drama is over lets get back to it. Things to do and not enough time to do them in." He called out. "Excuse me." Needing to sign off on a few things before they could get started.
"Thanks again for that." The shorter woman spoke.
With a nod, BJ turned and headed out to get the footage and Brune's statement, then wait for the others.
