Mission:
The Emerald Road
Location: Tactical Office
Mark heard some yelling from his office, it was not hard to do so as it was far from the quiet type. I looked through my view and saw Claire Macleod, a junior office new on board being shouted at and then pushed, poked and then stepped close to by the taller officer to intimidate. Mark practically leapt from his chair, past the desk, out my door nearly taking Ensign Sally Deaken off hier feet, she at the same time had been coming to warn Mark of the situation, Mark nearly sent the poor Ensign stumbling into her seat again. Marching out of the Office at full steam I was not noticed by the shouting Lieutenant in orange.
"Is there a problem." I said. The Lieutenant, one whom Id come to read up as Lieutenant Jack Brune. Bit of a god complex, thinks he better than everyone else type of guy that didn't work well with others, thought himself as the next star of Starfleet.
"Yes, I was trying to communicate to this rude officer that I have some requests." Jack spoke. "Very important requests."
"So when you didn't get what you wanted or the attention you decided shouting was the best way to go about it?" I said. "You do realise we are hilt deep in hostile territory, at risk of being jumped at any time and you are walking in here for.." Mark took the PADD the Lieuteant was holding. "Phaser efficiency reports and energy discharge analysis." Just....why?
"This ship is a test bed, she's never even seen combat." Jack said. "We have no idea how the phasers will function under combat conditions untested."
While Mark could understand that logic he had already spent considerable hours testing, simulating, running diagnostics and more to make sure that when needed the weapons would not only fire, but work as intended. "What do you think I have been doing these last few hours? Sitting on my ass drinking Coffee?"
"No, of course not." She quickly deflating Lieutenant spoke.
"Now that I've removed the need for you to be here, lets go onto the topic of you pushing around, assaulting and intimidating my staff?"
Silence, it was golden to a point. Shut him up at last.
"You see I know about you, you think you are the best thing to graduate, the next budding Admiral, the star of Starfleet and don't tell me otherwise because your ego drips off you. So you think you can pompously walk into here, shove and intimidate others to get what you want but you see, in this pond I'm the bigger fish, you have walked into my house and caused a ruckus."
More silence. More deflation.
"Claire, you ok?" Mark asked, though probably a dumb question looking at the glaring red face of the scots woman.
Brune remained silent. It was clear that his hole was not getting any shallower.
"Do we need security?" Mark asked her, she was the victim after all.
Brune stood an even more worried look on his face, a charge on his record would ruin his dreams and plans. All of which were dashed when Claire nodded.
=^= Security to the Tactical Office. =^=
"Oh I should warn you, the Chief of Security.....I really, really wouldn't try pulling what you did on Claire, with her."
