Mission: What Stalks The Night
Location: Starbase Medical Facility

Ayla pushed through the door, exiting the huge medical facility out onto the main concourse to lose herself in the crowd. She wondered where Mark had taken off planet side to run an errand, even though the weather was atrocious with rain storms. She hated the rain and no matter how much she tried to protect herself from it. She still got wet and her fur would be unmanageable for weeks later.

She moved with the flow of those around her, glancing at the various displays of goods from across the galaxy. She replayed the visit with the doctors for her major unbiased physical from a Doctor outside the Doctors she served with aboard any ship she crewed with.

"... Mrs. Bawden ..." The female doctor was looking at the screen before her, with occasional eye contact to see if Ayla was paying attention. "The teams of Specialists that provided your physical and review of your medical record of past treatments up to now have come to the conclusion that your in perfect health for one of your species, gender and age." Turning her attention fully upon the Mousian Starfleet Officer that sat on the other side of the desk.

"Am I still able to have children?" Ayla spoke up quickly, knowing Mark would like to have more children as he was so good with them.

"Yes, but it better be soon. Time waits for none." Doctor spoke with a slight wince as she was momentary stalled by the question.

Ayla knew there was a something more as the Doctor took a breather, glancing once more to the screen and back to her.

"With the loss of family member and coming off a very hazardous assignment. It shows you had very little mental counseling." She raised a hand to forestall any excuses, "I know you're busy with ship board duties of a Science Officer, Mother to a beautiful Daughter, Miracle and wife to another outstanding Officer. I could get you reassigned to a Star base or planet side till you had adequate mental counseling. We cant have our Officers distracted in crucial moments while out on assignment."

Ayla sat there in shock as she listened to the Doctor make her final comments. Anger flared within her and died as she realized she could be grounded by a Doctor. Any Doctor, Even Patrovski could do it. "I .. squeee .. I-I will take it under adviseme.."

"No." Doctor focused her full attention upon Ayla, interrupting. "You'll comply before you leave here with an appointment to see one of our councilors. The ship you're current assigned to is still undergoing full maintenance and will not be ready. And if by some odd chance, ship does leave before you see a Councilor. It'll leave without you. Commander Ayla Bawden. It has been fully noted in your records, CO, XO has been informed." She gave Ayla a stern glare.

"Yes Doctor," Ayla felt like a child before her mother laying the law down upon her. She even fidgeted, ears wilted deeply. Her tail wiggling as it felt like it was shrinking to get out of harms way of being rudely grabbed.

"Good!" The Doctor smiled warmly. "I've taken the liberty of scheduling an appointment with Doctor Blakenstein. I'll inform him you'll see him at 0800 in the counseling wing." Busy typing away on the keyboard. "You're free to go. Don't forget."

Ayla nodded, glad to finally getting out of the huge medical facility...

Ayla blinked to realized she walked into a lingerie shop. She paused as she took in the garments that would make any male drool if found worn on any females. She moved through the shop, fingering the materiel of each article of clothing, thinking back to the styles that really got him aroused.

She looked in the nearby mirror and noticed that she had put on a bit more weight due to her genetic make up, yet still had attractiveness of a much younger woman due to her profession of being a fleet officer. With that reminder, she resumed her shopping.
