Mission:
What Stalks The Night
Location: Hanger Bay 2
Zan was like a child in a candy store for the first time. Now that he was on the side of the bulkhead from before he was able to walk now amongst the rows of fighters in one of the massive hangers this ship had. He was in awe, there were rows of fighters, some of which had holographic barriers, bright orange ones to show not only were they being worked on, but that there were hazards around. He saw that there were exposable floor spaces under the fighters built into the floor so there was no need for anti grav sleds or harness straps. Tool cabinets were built into the floor and rose up for use when work was being carried out, something the old Dreadnought didn't have that's for sure. Everything had its place, a function, orderly and tidy. It was almost like a harmonious dance that actually made Zan wonder if he was actually needed.
These fighters were like they had rolled off the factory line, immaculate, clean, each with names on them beside the cockpits and knew there were going to be a lot of names that he'd have to get familiar with. He walked up to a console and called up a floor plan, there he could see squadrons were clustered together in blocks for scramble just as he'd done it on the Dreadnought. Then he saw the floor listing showing his own fighter, or at the least, the CAG's craft. Keen to get a look Zan made steps towards it and his eagerness was rewarded.
Before him stood a fresh, clean, like a gift from the heavens Gryphon class starfighter. He'd noticed there was no name placed by the cockpit yet, no doubt they didn't know who the CAG was going to be yet so left it blanks.
"Excuse me. Something I can help you with?"
Zan heard calling out to him and turned to see two officers standing there by the nose of the craft. "Hi, Lt. Zan Luthar."
Before Zan could finish he could see one of the officers already looking up the name. "You are no listed as part of the flight crews or pilots, Lieutenant."
"I transferred from the U.S.S. Dreadnought today, I'm the new CAG." Zan explained, he was understanding though, paperwork could sometimes be slow. "If you check with Captain Hood, he will confirm everything." He watched as one of the officer tapped a badge and asked the question.
"That's correct, he is the new CAG. Hood out."
Zan was relieved to hear the Captain's voice, bailed him out of a bind thats for sure.
"Sorry sir, security is tight, understandably."
"It's alright, no harm done. "Lt. Luthar, Zan Luthar call sign Shadow." He spoke walking under the wing of the craft to the two officers. "Security, pilots or ground crew?"
"Security. Ensign Sonya Sato and Andrew Rigzin." Now that introductions were done, things could proceed. "We will add your details to the system, our Chief of Security will sort everything out."
"Commander Reign, shes on board?" Zan asked.
"Who?"
"Commander BJ Reign, she was the Dreadnought Chief of Security. I was told everyone from the Dreadnought would be transferred to this ship, senior staff included." He explained to the two now bewildered looking officers. "I'm sure she will make herself known in due time, we only got our orders this morning so we are still filtering on board, I came on with the Captain, which I should probably go see him now that I come to think of it, I did lose the CLO somewhere."
"She's in the office up there." Sato pointed to one of the offices on the upper level.
"Oh, thanks." Zan made a mental note to check back with her having sort of ditched her along the way of her tour. "If you will excuse me, I'll go see the Captain."
