Mission: What Stalks The Night
Location: Ready Room

Zan took a gingerly transit to the Bridge taking in pretty much everything he saw. This ship was incredible, so many people, technology that screamed state of the art, it almost had that brand new feel to it still. The Bridge much to his surprise was gargantuan in comparison to the Bridge styles he was used to, even the Dreadnought's was large but this....this was something else. Sectioned areas with railings around them, a large open area generally with a holographic table he could see at the far end. There was a raised section that looked like where the Captain would sit with two seats a small drop in height in front of it.

It was not often he saw himself on the bridge of a starship and even then it was generally walking to the meeting room for a briefing, but that didn't stop him now taking a look around, a smile on his face, pride showing. After a moment of two of this Zan walked to the Ready Room, after being asked which of the doors it was and pressed the chime.

"Come." Will looked up from his desk as he was eye deep in reports that just kept coming in regarding updates ranging from his crew to the various departments of the ship. When he saw it was his wayward CAG he smirked. "I'm afraid you can't have one, this ship is the only one of her class."

"Sir." Zan walked in with a seldom seen energy in his step.

Will pointed towards one of the seats in front of him. "So, what do you think?"

Zan went on a several minutes speal about his experience in the Hanger Bay earlier, the fighters, all the things he'd seen. He was impressed and rightfully so, it was like being fresh out of flight academy and being given his first assignment, his first actual fighter.

"So, you approve, that's good." Will smiled glad someone was full of life and energy about all this. "I'd like you to make sure everything is in order in the hangers, I don't know what the capabilities are of this class of ship and I'd like to run some drills when the opportunity arises."

"Are you expecting trouble sir?" Zan asked, that energetic zeal being replaced with that experienced pilot.

"I always expect trouble, but I'd rather know what I can do about it than find out as it develops." Will answered.

"I'll have the wing ready, from what I saw most of the work is routine or diagnostic, but considering how many hangers we have and the quantity of craft, I don't foresee any problems in deployment." Zan replied, already in his mind making notes of things he'd want to check up on when he got to his office. "I have a CAP wing of 140 or more for deployment, if needed we can change loadouts as needed and redeploy depending on the threat present."

"Some of the crew are still arriving on the ship. I'll be calling a meeting of the senior staff at some point today to brief them on events and such." Will knew that had to be done, knowing there would be questions. He only hoped that he had answers for them. "If needs be, I might call upon some of your pilots to act as ferry service to anyone thats struggling to get transportation."

"Can't see a problem with that." Zan spoke. "Just give me the word and I'll get right on it."

"I see that we also have troop transports on board, make sure you work with Colonel Frost about those." Will spoke, having just read a report on the wing compliment.

"Will do." Zan answered. Zan was all for getting down to the nitty gritty details, this was as he saw it a massive carrier and he was in command of a very large component of its capability, he wanted to impress.

"Also." Will stood up, opened a draw and pulled out a box. "Given the service you rendered before in saving the Dreadnought from the organism and your years of service. I am promoting you to Lt. Commander, with all the rights and privileges with it. Congratulations."

When Zan woke up this morning, he didn't expect to be told to report to what was essentially a massive carrier teaming with pilots, fighters and a litter of other craft. He didn't expect to find himself being promoted too, not that he was complaining but not how he expected the day to go. "Thank you.." Zan stood up, inside the box was another pip for his collar, he couldn't wait to tell Amanda the news. He shook the Captain's hand, then looked at the box again.
