Mission: What Stalks The Night
Location: Personal Quarters

Amélie smiled wistfully, humming to herself as she returned to their quarters, walking through the doors and almost immediately shrugging out of her jacket, a soft sigh of happiness passing her lips as she dropped onto the couch, pulling her boots off and dropping them aside, the dreamy expression never once leaving her face.

Alain was wrapping up from his shift early, one of the things he was not fond of with his new job was the shift work which meant some days he was home earlier, others later. He hoped that once he was settled he would be able to get into a more stable rotation of hours that worked along his Wife's work hours. "I will see you guys tomorrow." Then Alain left work and started to walk home carrying with him an assorted meal of things.

Standing up from the couch, leaving her boots and jacket where they had fallen, Amélie walke across to the desk they shared in the corner of the living area of their quarters, logging into it and bringing up the photos again, staring at them, unable to help herself as she smiled happily. It was barely moments later when she heard the doors to their quarters open unexpectedly. Hurriedly, she closed the screen and spun in her seat, looking toward her Husband as she rose up from the chair. "You're home early," she said with a warm smile. "How was work?"

"They are working me into shift work, to help me get used to things and how they are done at the restaurant." Alain replied with a pleasant smile seeing his beautiful Wife. He placed the food on the corner of the table and walked over to her. His arms wrapped around her and he spoke. "I hope I have not kept the fine lady waiting too long, I did bring food with me for us."

"You don't need to bring food," Amélie said with a soft laugh as she folded herself in his arms, savouring the warmth of his presence. "But I'm glad you're home..." She pulled away slightly, her hands moving to his, gripping his hands slightly. "Can I show you something?" she asked hopefully.

"Sure." Alain replied as she took his hands in hers. He wondered what it could be that had caught her attention so.

Drawing a deep breath, Amélie smiled as she keyed in her access code to the console, almost instantly bringing up a photo of a tiny baby girl nestled safely in a warm, fluffy blanket, held in loving arms. "Isn't she beautiful?" Amélie said wistfully as she found herself staring at the picture again.

"Who's is this?" Alain asked looking at this adorable bundle of joy all nestled within a blanket and arms, a large smile on his face as his features softened by it.

"Her name is Cayden Amelia Leeson," Amélie murmured softly as she stared at the photo. "She's the brand new daughter of one of my patients. He left the ship a couple of days ago so he could go back to Earth to be there when his baby was born..." she sighed and smiled. "He just sent me these images today... He wanted to thank me..." she explained, flicking to the next image. "She's perfect isn't she?"

"Ah is this the patient you told me about earlier?" Alain asked as he remembered there was some tension with a patient and a poor situation that he'd found himself in since getting on board. He looked at the pictures. "Little rosy cheeks, such a cutie."

Unable to help herself, Amélie turned in her seat and looked toward him. "You know, we could have one of our own," she said brazenly. "A baby... I mean... Our baby?"

That 'awwww' moment was suddenly ground to a halt as her comment caught him off guard. "Wha..." He looked at her, seeing that glowing, smiling face looking back at him. He had that look in his eyes that his brain was still processing what he'd just heard, a deer in headlights they called it, that was Alain at this moment.

Seeing his wide eyed look, Amélie's expression fell some. "Would it really be that bad?" she asked softly, looking up at him. "I mean, isn't this what normal married couples do? Have babies and raise families together?"

"Well....uh." Alain managed to obtain a measure of composure. "Yeah, but this is your first Chief assignment, we just got on board." Last thing he wanted to do was put her Chief position at risk by starting a family so soon after arriving. "I mean it wouldn't be bad and yes its what they do, but what you do here is important, I'm just a Chef."

"And I'm just a counselor," Amélie replied quietly. "There is nothing that I do now that I couldn't do if I was pregnant..." She looked up at him, her hand running slowly up his torso toward his chest. "Would it really be that bad to have a baby? Our baby?"

"Ok." Alain perched himself on the end of the table. Obviously she had given this some thought as to bring it up. "So if you have thought about this, have you thought about when?" Having a baby was one thing, trying for one was another and which his shift schedule and her duty shifts they would have to plan everything.

Amélie grinned, rising up from the chair and leaning into him. "Well, I'm here," she said coyly. "You're here. She reached up on her toes, brushing a soft kiss across his lips. "We could start right now?"

"Oh..." There was no hiding his grin as he watched her lift onto her toes. "Ohhhhhh." Seeing that she was making her advancements very clear. "Well then." His arms sliding along her side to rest behind her on the small of her back. "Sounds fun to me." The idea of being a Father had its appeal to him, boy or a girl he didn't really mind and he knew when they married it would come up sooner or later. While he worried for her career he knew she would give due thought about it, make sure it wouldn't risk what she did.

Winding her fingers in the back of his hair, she pulled his head down to kiss him softly. "I think you'd make a wonderful Daddy," she said softly as she smiled up at him.

"I won't lie and say I've not thought about what you'd look like pregnant." Alain spoke, mostly since he'd seen other pregnant women before and that fleeting thought of 'What if' came to mind.

Pulling away enough to take his hand and slide it down, pressing his palm against the flat of her stomach, she looked up at him. "I've been thinking about this all afternoon," she said softly. "I want to have your baby."

She always was a head turner, a wild one, the envy of many a male and female. Even after they married she still held all those traits and was all his to enjoy, much to the moans and complaints of many that harboured feelings towards her. "Well, you're here, I'm here......"

"Then I guess the only question..." she reached up again, leaving his hand pressed against her stomach as she wound her fingers back into his hair. "Do you want to have a baby with me?"

"Silly question, you know I do." Alain replied. "Like I'd marry you and then make another woman pregnant, preposterous." He looked at her. "Besides, didn't I say I wondered what you'd look like pregnant?"

Amélie smiled, pulling his head down and kissing him softly. "I love you, Alain D'Aramitz," she said warmly before kissing him again. "You are the best thing that has ever happened in my life."

"I love you too my darling Wife." Alain replied between the kisses. His hold on her was a firm one keeping her pressed up against him even as the room began to fill with the smell of the food he brought home with him.
