Mission: What Stalks The Night
Location: Sickbay Trauma Bay

Quiet had the tendency to turn into chaos when one was unprepared, and so Acacia was busy doing the one task she hated more than anything else. Inventory. If they ran out of supplies or if any required supplies malfunctioned in any sense, it could prove disastrous.

The violent rocking of the ship sent her stumbling, and brought a rain of hypo-sprays down on top of her head. One of them smacked her right on the crown of her head "Ouch!"

Stepping out of the room she was doing inventory in, Acacia called out "What happened?"

One of the medical staff managed to hear her question and walked over. "Hanger bay 1 has decompressed, we have casualties." The nurse spoke as more of a walk by comment.

Another soon followed. "We have survivors within the Agincourt but there are fatalities from the accident."

"With a complete decompression? I don't doubt it." Wetting her lips with a flick of her tongue the woman thought for a moment. "Activate the trauma alert system. Get every available MD in here. "

"Bay internal sensors are down, but Agincourt reports 53 people on board, many of them wounded." Another nurse reported as the trauma alert system activated. As if on time, the doors opened and three full squads of combat medics walked in dressed in green uniforms and kitted for action.

"We are here to help, where do you need us?"

Combat medics were meant to stabilize a patient for transit to a medical facility, in this instance they could at least handle the least injured, while trained medical staff handled the worst of cases.

Thank you Jack her thoughts were gentled for a moment. "Excellent. How many of you are trauma trained?"

"9 of the 24 of us." The marine replied. The said 9 presented themselves to the front of the line, med kits and packs in hand or strapped to themselves.

"Good. Your three most senior medics with real battle triage experiance step forward. "

Three marines stepped up, two males and a female.

"You three, pick one trauma medic and 2 regular medics and go to trauma bay 1. You will be triaging the incoming wounded. The rest of the 12 of you will deal with the walking wounded in the room adjacent to the main trauma bay. If its outside of your scope, but stable sit on them. Be prepared for ruptured ear drums and a lot of frostbite. Dont be surprised if those closest to the decompression cant hear you. Any signs of Respiratory Distress in anyone, become Immediates even if they are stable vitals wise. Anyone argues with you, send them to me and Ill deal with them. "

"Yes Ma'am." Orders received and the marines leapt into action. They knew the drill but they also knew this was Sickbay, not a battleground, they were there to do a job and right now that meant helping to save lives and not fight an enemy.

Watching them all file out she smirked softly after they were gone at the ma'am. Shed gotten a ma'am once from Jack...sucha delightful memory of a crowded transport.... "Are the Intensive Care beds up and running?"

"They are. Teams are in place, medical equipment and spares are ready." A nurse replied knowing that any moment things were about to go from quiet, or chaos. Those marines that were unassigned were dotted about and between medical teams filling in to help where they could, some were even listing where supplies where to nurses could raid pouches if needed.

"Excellent. Someone get the trauma surgeries ready to go and start replicating blood, plasma and surfactants. Also, triox compound and liquid oxygen."

More bodies moved, white coats walked left and right, some could be seen pulling on red medical outfits for the more critical needs before walking into the sterilisation room of the surgery rooms. For some this was the first actual injury treatment, some fresh from medical school, others were veterans but all were prepared.

Everyone thought that they were prepared and Acacia steeled herself for the first screams after the blue lights that enveloped some of the beds faded. Time to get to work.

"Energize."
