What Stalks The Night
Location: MCO's Office
Jack had just finished his report write up to command and not a moment too soon because he was starting to get a headache. With the marine teams off helping engineering and medical it didn't mean other duties could stop, there was more to be done and one of them was to talk to the Counsellor. Knowing that a mental assessment would be required, be it on the ship or back at marine command it was going to be needed. Jack wanted to get it all done and dusted in a neat orderly pile. As much as he didn't want to bother the new Counsellor, she was new on board after all much like the rest of them he had little choice, do it here, save it doing it later.
=^= Colonel Frost to Lt. D'Aramitz, I'm sorry to bother you but would you perhaps have a moment to stop by my office. I could use your professional services for something? =^=
Amélie was surprised by the request, but it was no doubt a welcome diversion from everything else that was going on.
=^= Of course Colonel, I'll join you in a few moments. =^=
=^= Thank you Counsellor =^= Jack replied, somewhat glad that she had time now to deal with this.
With the call to the Counsellor concluded jack knew that he had to get the Major involved too, her report was key but the Counsellor needed to be briefed and with the situation as grave as it is, both marines were required. =^= Sam, Jack. Can I see you in my office a moment, need to talk about this fight incident? =^=
Sam had made little progress from not long ago, this report was bugging her, irritating her. She had written condolences that were easier than this. The Coffee that she had been drinking had long gone cold, it just like the cup it was within untouched for some time as Sam had paced, wondered about her office trying to word her report.
When the call from Jack came in she snapped out of her own little world. =^= On my way Colonel. =^= Sam wondered what it was she wanted to talk about, his office was only next door so it wasn't like she was going to be waiting long and not long it was as within 30 seconds she found herself standing outside his door, a smile to his EA that sat at the desk beside it as she waited.
Grabbing a PaDD, she headed out of her office, through the ship to the Marine area. Despite the obvious tension around the Marines, there were at least a few who didn't seem entirely disturbed by her presence, something she would take at face value as being a win. Approaching the Colonel's office, she noticed Sam waiting as well and offered the other woman a smile. "I don't think we've met?" she said warmly. "Lieutenant D'Aramitz, but call me Amélie."
Sam turned to see a woman in blue walking towards her, what was she doing down here? Was she lost? "Lieutenant." Sam greeted. "Samantha Snyder, Major." She replied. "Here to see the Colonel or me?"
"I'm here for the Colonel, I believe he's expecting me," Amélie replied. "It's nice to finally meet you Major, I've heard a great deal about you," she smiled before qualifying with "All good I can assure you."
Jack turned to his door, he'd seen the Counsellor walk to his office. His door chime had sounded but he'd taken a moment to calm himself. "Come." The doors opened to reveal the two women and waved them in. "A seat ladies." Offering the two the chairs in front of his desk as he stood beside it.
Walking into Jack's office she parked herself in one of the chairs in front of his desk. So just what did this woman do? Why was she here?
"I wanted to invite our Chief Counsellor to this because frankly I'd rather her be part of this ordeal here than some random back at HQ." Jack explained to Sam seeing the semi obvious puzzled look in her expression.
Taking the offered seat, Amélie nodded slightly. "I have no wish to step on toes, but I'm happy to help in any way I'm able." Clearly something was going on that she'd not been party to already. "I assume someone will fill me in on what's happened?" she asked, glancing between the two.
Jack started from the beginning and went through the known sequence of events that took place, it was not overly lengthy to do as most of it was down in reports from those that witnessed and broke up the fight. "Obviously the fight has ended her career, but a mental assessment will need to be carried out to make sure that shes on the ball or if there is something effecting her mental faculties." Jack spoke.
"The Major and I are both required to write reports to marine command about this, now we could go with someone Earth side but honestly, you're here now. What I need from you is a formal mental evaluation of our troublesome marine to make sure she knew what she was doing." Jack concluded.
Amélie nodded slightly. "I see," she replied gently. "I can do a mental evaluation, there's no issue with that at all. I assume you're going to want it done as quickly as possible?"
"The sooner the better, command is going to be taking a very very close look at things here because of this and I want to make sure everything we do subsequent to the fight is above board." Jack answered. "Also this will be going to the command authority of the ship too." Just so that the Counsellor knew all the players in the game that were involved.
"Give me an hour to read through her history?" Amélie requested softly. "It may give some perspective as well. I would also recommend a medical checkup, to rule out any physical issues that may be causing problems. I can run an evaluation, but it will be up to her how conclusive my evaluation will be."
"Physically she will recover, shes being treated in Sickbay then she will be held in the Brig. If she doesn't cooperate with you, then note it in your report but do what you can. She may not like it but one way or another shes getting evaluated. You may want to remind her that you are more friendly than the alternative." Jack suggested.
Amélie nodded slightly. "Of course Colonel, I'll do what I can. I'll ask sickbay to move her to a private room so we can speak in there before she's discharged, that may help impress the importance of the situation on her." The counselor paused for a moment. "Anything else I should be aware of?" she asked, glancing between the two marines again.
"Nothing that we can say that might influence your report. At best all we can do is inform you what happened, provide you with the with witness statements and you do your evaluation. The rest will be up to marine command." Jack spoke up.
"Of course Colonel, I'll have a report back to you hopefully in a few hours. If there's nothing else you need from me right now?" Amélie picked up the PaDD from her lap and stood up. "I may as well get started."
Jack nodded, letting the Counsellor go. Watching her leave then turning his attention to Sam. It was a bad situation, there was no disputing that what so ever, all they could do now was wait.
