Mission: What Stalks The Night
Location: Away Team

Bianca felt like she had been staring at the holotable for an eternity but in reality it had only been less than a minute. Finally, casting another quick glance around the gathering of the Dreadnought crew, she shook her head. "No, the vents won't work. We need to get to the engineering section to stabilize the reactor. I think our best bet is safety in numbers. We all go together and stay together." She glanced at Xavier before offering a nod toward Stefan. "Can he move? I'm not leaving him behind. I am willing to bet he knows a lot more than he's letting on, he might be useful."

"Move, yes. Though I should point out in his condition, heightened fear, stress. Will it be good for him? I don't know, but we can't leave him here if there is something out there." From a medical point of view there was no ideal situation but Xavier had to roll with the cards he was dealt.

"Good, get him on his feet and try and keep him quiet?" Bianca suggested as she started to turn toward the security officers.

"Are you insane?" Stefan asked. "You want to go out there, with that thing?" Fear plastered all over Stefan's face. "You have seen what it can do, what it's done and you want to go out there?"

"Well, unless you have a better idea, WE are going out there," Bianca replied calmly, turning her full attention back to Stefan. "I don't feel like sitting around waiting to see how we're all going to die, and I'm pretty sure none of my crew do either. So, unless you suddenly have an inspirational idea on how we can fix the reactor remotely and stop the planet from blowing up, then give us access to communications and transporters so we can contact our ship, take our gel and leave, then yes, WE are going out there, creature be damned." Without waiting for a response Bianca turned and gave her full attention to the security detail around them.

"Commander Reign, Lieutenant Hebron, lets leave a couple of guards here to make sure the gel stays safe, assemble the rest of the crew," Bianca ordered before turning toward James. "Lieutenant Bradshaw, do you know where we need to go?"

Vic nodded his head at the orders being given and turned to a couple of the security detail. "You guys stay we are pushing forward. Radio in if ANYTHING happens." The two officers explained. After that Vic checked his weapon to make sure it was full functioning and waited to move.

"Need to go, yes. Getting there might be an issue. I'll know more as we go but this place is a mess and with a fragile power system, doors will open or they wont." James knew what he had to do but with the risk of being hunted, systems in questionable condition and the power hardly in a stable condition.

"Right, Lieutenant Hebron, Lieutenant Bradshaw, you're with me. The rest of you follow in behind. Stay close, stay alert, stay quiet." Bianca unholstered her own weapon, checking and arming it before pulling out her tricorder. "Lets go."

Vic took up post right next to the XO as they started down the path. He had no clue what was gonna happen next but he was trying to be prepared for anything.

With Bradshaw leading the way, Bianca fell into step next to the engineer, her attention continually flicking back to the group behind them. The tension was palpable with each and every step, and even she had to admit that the thought of this unknown predator being somewhere around them had her heart beating a little quicker despite her many years of security experience. She was grateful for the presence of Lieutenant Hebron, the physical size and tough exterior of the Brikarian making him an obvious tactical advantage in this situation. Still, if what ever it was they were hoping not to find was able to claw away at the walls of the facility like that, she imagined even the tough Brikarian exterior would not be that impenetrable.

These walls that were all too familiar to Stefan had taken on a darker and much more grim onlook as he walked passed. Damage from consoles shorting out, missing panels that were used to barracade a door or the sight of blood smeared or splattered upon its metal surface. Just recently he was walking through these halls doing his duties and everything seemed fine and then it all went south and people started to die, some friends, others specialists, most he didn't even know.

Finally, they paused outside a door, Lieutenant Bradshaw having indicated that this was their destination. There was an audible sense of relief as the door slid open easily and they were inside the Engineering section. "Lieutenant Hebron, secure the door. Lieutenant Bradshaw, it's time to work your magic," Bianca said quietly, still not ready to relax.
