Mission: What Stalks The Night
Location: Personal Quarters / Sickbay

Listening to the barrage of messages that had been left for her certainly helped to lift her spirits in some ways, but it also left Nim feeling a little more isolated. Hearing from Elyse had made her realise how much she missed having friends around. It had been so long since she had seen them. Elyse and Seth, it had to have been what... three or four years at least? If not longer?

She hadn't been aboard the Asger long enough to truly settle in and make friends, and it felt like since arriving on the Dreadnought all she had done was work. Not that that was a bad thing, at least it kept her focused and preoccupied.

With a heavy sigh she picked up the bottle of wine and corked it again, putting it away before padding quietly toward the bathroom. "Computer, lower the lights to fourty five percent and play music file Vixel Delta Seven Nine," she ordered as she turned on the shower, watching as the lights dimmed around her and the music started to play.

Her desire to enjoy a quiet drink or two was definitely gone, but at least she could enjoy a nice long shower and hopefully a decent nights sleep.

No sooner had she stepped under the hot blast of water, the lights darkened even further, the red alert lights strobing as the klaxons started to sound.

Closing her eyes for a moment, Nim leaned into the wall of the shower, resting her head against her forearms as her shoulders dropped. "Well, so much for that idea," she murmured softly.

For a ship that had the relative size of a small planet, it didn't feel as sturdy as a planet. Based on the way the ship was rolling and lurching, either they were white water rafting down rapids or the ship was under attack, presumably the latter.

Several times on the way back to sickbay she had had to stop and grab hold of something to keep her steady as she ship rocked again. Finally, almost falling through the doors of sickbay, she grabbed the first solid object she could to steady her footing before she looked around.

"Lietenant Vixil!" Emma exclaimed as she grabbed hold of Nim to help steady her. "Do you know what's happening?"

Nim shook her head quickly. "Not a clue, I imagine reports will start coming in soon, but for the moment, let's prepare for incoming wounded..." her voice trailed off as the commotion stopped briefly, giving Nim the chance to get into main sickbay where the medical staff had already started gathering.

"Right," she called as the ship started to sway again. "Emma and Riley, trauma bay one. Danielle and Cody, trauma two. Celeste and D'naria, trauma three." She paused, giving a quick head count of who she had left over as the first half dozen started walking away. "Jantz, prep surgery one, and Gar'tk prep surgery two. Lucy, Georgia and Erqaik, I want you in triage. Coby and Lissul, start prepping field kits in case we need them."

She watched as those who were assigned specific tasks scattered to do as they were told before turning a steady gaze on those who were left. "You're going to be running support crew. Help anyone who needs it."

Without waiting for an answer from them, she turned on her heel, trying not to lose her balance as the ship rolled again and headed toward her office.

Maybe the computer could give her some idea as to what the hell was going on.
