Mission: Not All Changes Are Welcome.
Location: USS Dreadnought
Timeline: Backpost.

Annabelle stood there looking at the assorted clothing hanging in her closet, frowning as most of them had defects from one reason or another. It was time for some shopping. She took the defected clothing off the hangers and tossed them in a basket to be recycled later.

"Wonder if Sam would like tag along." Annabelle moving over to the communicator and activating it. She glanced at the clock, seeing if it was a good time to bug Sam, since Samantha had to run the entire Marine Detachment aboard the ship. Using the direct link, bypassing any secretaries, Marine personnel.

"Hi Sammy, Tis Annabelle. You available to check out the Promenade with me?" Annabelle spoke once the connection was made. Hoping she wasn't in a private meeting with any of her personnel.

Annabelle's voice was a much welcome interruption. "Hey." Sam spoke with a growing smile on her face. Then she heard the idea of the Promenade. "You know what, I'd love to." Knowing she wouldn't have time to change but she didn't care because it meant spending time with Annabelle. "10 minutes and I'll be right there."

"Meet at Promenade inter-ship transporter 2 then," Annabelle smile widen as it must've been Samantha wasn't busy with others of her command. "Cyas soon, Sam." Then broke the connection, making the mad dash to the nearest inter-ship transporters.

Sam swiftly made her way to intership transporter 2, Sam had not spent as much time with Anna as she would have liked following the last mission and all the preparations that were needed for the current one. She also couldn't help think back to the times when Anna helped Sam come out of her shell a little, be more of a woman than a career marine.

A few minutes before the discussed 10 minutes she arrived at the Promenade and looked around for Annabelle.

Annabelle stood a few feet away from the exit of the transporter pads to allow those access and room to pass by. Seeing Sam arrive and begin to look around. She gave a wave to attract Sam's attention. Giving a wave and smile. "Hi Sam!" loud enough to draw Sam's attention as she approached her.

When close enough to Sam, Anna gave Sam a quick friendly hug of friends meeting up. "Definitely we need to work on your shopping outfit." Giving Samantha the once over with a twinkle in her eyes as she teased Samantha about being in uniform.

Sam smiled seeing Annabelle again and welcomed the hug though she did notice the different 'feel' from the hug. Sam couldn't blame Annabelle if she'd lost interest, being a marine is a busy duty and times it takes her away or saps available free time. For all Sam knew Annabelle wanted to take a step back from what they had before and Sam knew she was to blame for that. "It wouldn't be a first." Remembering the times they had gone out for 'off duty' outfits and even some that were out of the norm for Sam.

"There is a new boutique we gotta check out!" Annabelle grabbing Samantha's hand with excitement bubbling up. She gave a lingering squeeze as she led the way through others out shopping. "Getting settled in okay in this monstrosity of a ship?" Looking at Samantha with interest.

"Still working on that." It was a big ship and while she was quartered on the Marine deck for ease of command it still took some getting used to. It was very different from the other ships she had been on, while there was so much space there were also many more people on board including civilians. Some joked that the Dreadnought was essentially a mobile starbase and it seemed they were not far wrong.

"A boutique?" Had Sam really been under a rock all this time, she'd not really ventured to the civilian areas of the ship much and given its size no doubt missed much.

"A specialized store that sells certain styles that you don't find in other stores." Annabelle spoke with a smile, giving Samantha's hand another squeeze. "They were the craze by the very rich back in the twentieth century. There a few still around. But are hard to find unless you hear it by word of mouth or part of an exclusive group."

Annabelle pointed out to a little shop, "that where we're going." Almost dragging Samantha along as she picked up her pace, making a beeline to the shop. On display were very stylish dresses of various lengths for any occasion.

It was a good thing Sam was able to keep up with Annabelle otherwise she may have ended up being dragged. Clearly this shop had peaked her interest and Sam was not going to ruin it for her. As they neared the shop Sam could see what Annabelle meant about the dresses that lined the windows, some very beautiful pieces.

Annabelle smiled as she was in her element and with someone special in her life to share it with. She eyed Samantha breifly and picked out several outfits. "Try these on." Turning to Samantha, almost shoving the dresses into her. "I think these will look very beautiful on you." Pointing out the changing room to Samantha as she picked out several dresses for herself to try on.

Armed with an array of outfits and seeing little point in doing anything but trying them on Sam turned to see where the changing rooms were and headed that way. When she walked in and closed the door behind her she hung up the dresses on hooks on the wall and looked at them. It felt strange, a Marine is what she was and here hung several dresses that on first sight said 'woman' instead of 'marine'.

Fortunately they were hangers available to hang her uniform on as she changed out from outfit to the first of the dresses handed to her. It was certainly different and after a little difficulty zipping it up it was on. A quick glance in the full length mirror then opened the door to try and spot Annabelle.

Annabelle stepped from her changing booth, wearing one of her selection of dresses. She looked at Samantha and gave a soft appreciative whistle. "Mmmmmm delicious." She muttered looking over Samantha.

"I still have more to try on." Sam spoke but she was glad Annabelle liked it. "Wait there." After a few minutes and some shifting she managed to get into the next dress, it was a size too small but it was ok. It looked good so leaving it partially unzipped at the back she stepped out. "It's a little small though."

Annabelle eyes glittered at the size smaller than the others. "I'm sure the store has a bigger size," Stepping around behind Samantha, grabbed the zipper and gave a sharp tug bringing it all the way up. Then reaching around Samantha, gave her breast a slight adjustment as she muzzled Samantha's neck, placing a soft kiss there. Even though the dress was smaller in size, it hugged and enhanced Samantha's physique.

"Much better." Annabelle walked about Samantha while checking her out. "If it fits. It never too small."

Sam smiled, her uniform was cut proper and trim while this recent change of attire was certainly something different. "Well I have others to try on, so do you mind?" Sam turned her back to Annabelle, it took two to get into the dress, she'd need her to get out of it.

Annabelle smiled as she carefully unzipped the zipper enough that it would be easier for Samantha to remove herself the rest of the way. "There ya go. Next time try it without the under clothes." Giving Samanthia a wink as she strode lazily off to find more outfits to try on. "Just call me if need more help."

Sam hated that Annabelle was right, maybe it would have been better after all. Next....another dress.
