Not All Changes Are Welcome.

Going through the code was tedious, after a few hours, the process was speeded up through familiarization of the data and separating the data into communications, ship tracking, and a few other subcategories so that multiple crew people could study each section.
At first there was a few ships sending out emergency signals for rescue. Some turned out to be simple miscalculations and asteroids hitting ships. Then the odd one requesting aid due to attacks by pirates. Or emergency signal for rescue on a badly mauled ship that was result of a deadly attack.
Ayla brought up the cargo manifests to see what the ships were hauling that got attacked by the pirates. It was random, from food concentrates to processed metals. It was getting interesting, eyes getting tired looking at the data slowly streaming across the screen. Listening to the audios of the ships in system. A lot was routine traffic with a random garbled signal or an echo transmission going out a split second later while the main transmission was more legible to understand. Definitely there was an upswing on piracy in the region. The ship that needed help were beyond the range of the system array. And their transmissions originated in deep space.
"See if you can isolate the echo on these transmissions." Ayla pointed out the transmissions that had the echo or another signal riding piggyback on the main transmissions.
"On it." Another scientist in the group working with the system array data that was received by Dreadnought. He transferred the radio transmissions that was tagged for farther study.
