Mission:
Ethics, Morals & The Prime Directive.
Location: Corridor outside of Miach's office
Timeline: Current
On:
Miach strode down the corridor with Morrigan at his side. He knew the ship was in an active combat zone. A such he was headed to his office. He hadent been cleared yet to perform medicine on the ship as he hadent quite met the CMO yet. It was always difficult changing postings. There was a part of himself that wanted to go to sickbay and help with the incoming injured but he didn't want to be presumptuous.
~Prrrriest, what ails yourrrrrr mind so? ~ came the rumbling voice of his shelat into his mind.
~Hm? Ah nothing Morrigan just feeling useless is all. New ship new CO, new crew.~ He replied down their link.
~When will yourrr mate join us?~ Morrigan asked.
At that question Miach felt a pang of longing and loneliness. He and Kasia had been separated for years before they found eachother again on the Yamato. With the decommissioning of that ship is crew, including his wife and himself were reassigned.
~Your perception serves you well Morrigan. I am missing my wife and that may well be part of my... dark mood.~ He responded, the purring rumble from his words bubbled up from her throat but were cut short as the ship shuttered. Then pitched, flinging both Morrigan and him through the open door to his office. Miach slammed I to the ground and tumbled to ragdoll against the desks very sturdy leg. He whooofed as the air was forcibly expelled from his lungs and half a heartbeat later the mass of a large shelat slammed into him pancaking him against the desk leg even harder.
Miach was dazed as he pushed our from under the snarling Morrigan.
~I'll rip apart whoeverrrr did that and feed theirrrrr eyes to the crrrrows!~ the vitriolic curses continued to rumble into his mind like a war drum calling men to battle.
Miach pushed himself up to his knees as the ship shuttered and bucked underneath him as he fought to stand. As he got to his feet he assessed himself taking a deep breath he winced.
"Gods below but that hurts." He muttered as he probed his side with a finger and found two of his ribs were broken. He grunted and the pain that radiated down his link with Morrigan made her growel and stop cursing as her head whipped around to look at him.
~Prrriest, you arrrrrre injurred...~ Miach cut her off, "Yes I can tell" he said as he flipped the display on his desk around and looked over the incoming damage reports. There were hull breaches, but that didn't make sense. This class of ship has incredibly powerful shi.. oh he saw now. The shields were down due to recovery operations for the medivac shuttles.
His eyes scanned the damage reports and his heart skipped a beat. He immediately saw that the unarmored sections of the ship had been hit the hardest. Those sections included the schools and civilian areas. There would be injured and panicked civilians there. He looked over the schematics and found several unused cargo bays that were I'm the armored sections of the ship and nodded.
"Morrigan on me. We need to help the civilians." He paused then addressed the computer, highlighting the cargo bays he had in mind.
"Computer, pass a message to the bridge crew. I'm headed to the civilian sections and I'm going to escort as many to the unused cargo bays at these locations." He stated moving to the door to exit and head to the civilian sections that were hit.
---Civilian area---
Miach grimaced as he stepped onto the deck that most of the ships schools were located on. He and Morrigan found a small mob of civilians that were well into a panic.
"Attention! Attention!" Miach yelled but couldn't be heard over the cacophony of panicked people.
~Morrigan, please get their attention for me.~ He asked and a silvery thread of amusement flashed against their link before she opened her mouth and roared at a truly klaxon decibel. The wholy unusual sound of a shelat's cry stopped the mob in a startled pause.
Miach took the opportunity and spoke.
"Attention everyone! I'm Commander Miach Tinsha, Chief Counsellor. We have been hit by an unknown weapon. I need you all to move to these cargo bays." He said turning to the wall and activating a wall pannel that showed the location and route to the cargo bays.
"Those bays are behind armor and should be far more safe." He side stepped and pointed to the turbolift. The startled crowd snapped out of their surprise and started to rush the turbolift.
"Stay calm!' Miach bellowed "Don't push!" He moved through the crowd calming and smiling to individuals to help ease the tension. Moving down the corridor he continued to reassure and point towards the turbolifts.
As Miach moved he saw downed people with various bumps and bruises. He triaged them as he went after the second serious case he tapped his combadge.
=/\= Tinsha to sickbay, I'm on deck 13 headed aft of the main classroom. There are at least four severely injured people here. I need triage teams as soon as possible to transport the wounded to sickbay. =/\= he wheezed as the pain in his chest flared up from breathing.
Acacia had been using the time prior to her emergency return to duty to read the files on the new staff. She'd actually just been reviewing the Psychiatrist's personnel file.
=/\= This is Doctor Thomas. I don't have anyone to send you now as I have teams in engineering and the bridge. Feel free to initiate emergency transports for the serious cases to sickbay. Use transport locators if you need to. I'll fully vet your credentials at a later date but triage and treat as best you can with my blessing Doctor.=/\=
Miach nodded =/\=Very well sickbay. Expect at least two serious incoming. Tinsha out.=/\= he activated the emergency beacon on his tricorder that would beam the person in front of him to sickbay.
He back tracked to the fallen civilian he had left thinking that emergency staff would be forthcoming and activated the transporter for them as well before continuing forward. Ushering those that were well enough to help the walking wounded to the cargo bays. The ones that were unable to move he triaged enough to stabilize and beamed them to sickbay.
"This is not." the deck shook under him "How I imagined my first official day on duty to go, gods damned it!" He could hear Morrigan's chuckle resonate down their connection.
~No one expects theirrrr ship to go into battle, Prrrriest.~ she replied as she nudged a boy of about 10 down the hallway to the turbolifts.
