Mission: New Faces and Terror Beyond
Location: Sickbay, U.S.S. Dreadnought
Timeline: Current

Dr Armada was in Sickbay running tests that Dr Patrovski had left her to do since she was needed to stay on board the ship while he was down on the planet's surface. Armada looked into the records of Ayla since the loss of Marcie due to genetic contamination, she couldn't begin to imagine how it must have felt to lose a child. She called up Ayla's information, including the information on both pregnancies, checkups, screenings and blood tests.

The information spanned the entire desk on different PADD's but each were in order depending on the chaos that it could be seen to be. Physically Ayla was in good shape and health both before and after pregnancy, her blood tests were fine barring a very slight iron deficiency with Miracle's pregnancy but that had no bearing on the pregnancy with Marcie.

Chemically Ayla was also fine, Estrogen was within norms and Progesterone was extraordinarily high. This was normal as Progesterone was used to relax joints and ligaments as well as facilitate the normally pear shaped uterus to transform to accommodate a full sized baby. Tests revealed a shift in balance which is to be expected and additional curvature of the back as the pregnancy developed, all these would have no bearing on what happened to Marcie.

Ayla's weight gain was consistent with both pregnancies, fluid retention was normal and swelling of the limbs was also normal and expected. Skin pigmentation had changed in some areas of the body but being covered in fur that was hardly an issue. Blood pressure had picked up by 12% which was normal for pregnancy, and air intake was reduced as the pregnancy developed but breathing exercises fixed that.

Armada checked physical checks on Ayla, samples taken during pregnancy because she was the only one of her race on board so they wanted to make sure that the first pregnancy followed suit to any following. There was little reason to check her results because the cause was narrowed down to what was done to Marcie. The more Armada looked into it, the more troubling things got. She checked her results twice just to be sure, even sent a copy to Dr Patrovski just to get a second opinion since he was the only other person well versed in Ayla.

When confirmation came back an hour later, her heart sank. Two medical professionals came up to the same conclusion.

Somehow the want to do this in person took precedence, seemed more personal for a very personal situation. She stood up and left Sickbay.
