Location: Returning to Ship

Zan was in his shuttle heading back to the ship to collect the supplies that were too important or too bulky to be beamed down to the surface. He knew these upgrades to the Hospital were sorely needed, he could see that from the secure landing zone but the cockpit of a shuttle was nothing compared to a fighter. Still he had a job to do and he'd get on with it, even if he'd rather be spending time with his hew to be Wife Amanda than caged up in a shuttle getting rained on.

"Shuttle Ramillies to Dreadnought, on finals to load supplies for surface colony." Zan spoke as he neared the aft of the ship between the nacelles.

Once clearance had been approved the shuttlebay doors opened and he could see the large under-slung containers ready to be coupled to the shuttles. He knew this would make the handling of the shuttles terrible, a large container was hardly aerodynamic. Good thing for shield harmonics.

It took a full 15 minutes to secure the containers to the underside of the shuttles, testing, stress testing and maglock testing. Considering this was larger than what would normally be transported the extra safety measures didn't hurt. When everything was ready 4 very heavily laden shuttles exited the ship and headed back to the planet. Controls were horrible, flight stability was beyond compromised and the shuttle was shaking hard.

The shields blazed a variety of oranges and reds as we cut through the atmosphere and even with inertial dampeners at full power it was still choppy. Im so glad I didn't eat much earlier because it wouldn't be pretty now with all the shaking going on.

With the storage containers we were carrying we had to take a more gentle angle back to the surface which meant a slightly longer flight time than before.

"You know Zan, you should just take Amanda to Risa, live it up a little and relax." He said to himself aloud since he was the only one in the shuttle.

Minutes later he could see the well lit landing zone where they would put the containers, the shuttles would land just a little ways off.
