"Sir, we have been granted permission to dock with the shuttles that are returning from the planet." Nicole offered without looking away from the console in front of her, "I don't understand why the Dreadnought has not gone after the contact."
James shrugged, "I don' know abou' da..." He adjusted the pitch of the of the runabout so that they were angled slightly. "Decreasing da speed of da runabou'..." He reached across the console, "Dispatch da message expressing meh nee' for some coffee."
Nicole laughed, "I'm certain that could be arranged sir. At the very least it'll help with the accent."
He looked at her sideways as if she had just wounded him and, he grunted under his breath. "Is it tha' bad?" He reached up and touched his lips softly before shaking his head and adjusted the vessel angle once more.
"Yes sir." She replied slowly, "We have received clearance from shuttle control." She looked at him, "And, the shuttlebay manager has a cup of the strongest Irish Black that they could possibly get the replicator to make."
He grinned, "Best bit o' news I have heard so far..." He shook his head, "Inform da Cap'n' tha' I will meet him in his ready room." He remarked to the marine NCO.
"Message sent. I am activating maneuvering thrusters only." Nicole said and, looked over at him, "Sorry that we couldn't get the replicator to function this morning." She curled her lip upwards slightly in pained pity of the Irishman.
"I will live." He returned his gaze from her back down to the console in front of him. "Dockin' has been engaged." He finally smiled for the first time in hours. "Openin' da back hatchway." He turned in the chair so that he could see the inside of the shuttlebay on board the new vessel. This ship was massive and, he was looking forward to serving on her.
A young Lieutenant Junior Grade walked onto the runabout, "Your coffee sir." He said extending it out for the Commander to take.
James nodded and accepted the mug, "Thank ya." He said and dismissed the Lieutenant. He took a sip out of the mug, "Ahh..." He closed his eyes with a smile on his face, "Now to go talk to da Cap'n'..."
"I am going to my rack it's been a long trip sir." Nicole said and stood up after stretching her legs out. "Good luck meeting the Captain."
James walked over to the edge of the rack in the back of the runabout and picked up the bags with his belongings and the PADD that rested on the rack. "Thank ya." He carried the PADD in one hand and the mug in the other as he stepped off the runabout.
"Computer locate da Cap'n'?" He said after clearing his throat.
