Mission:
Unknown Life, Unknown Dangers
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Current
A tingling sensation told William that all was not as it should be, while the loss of an officer was regrettable it at least provided answers, the officer didn't die for nothing. While Starfleet may be satisfied with the results it all seemed a little too easy to be the end of it, something just didn't add up at the end of the day.
The scene on the Bridge was a low one, the crew of the Dreadnought no matter how new was family. Service or Civilian, each were treated with the same care, love and support as the next. William was thankful for the togetherness of friends and family that helped keep moral up, balance maintained as best as possible. Thinks however were about to take a turn for the surreal.
=^= Engineerin' to Commodore Hood I am afraid that I have some bad news sir...Whatever had infected the Civic and 'er crew has attached itself to the starboard nacelle of the Dreadnought and has begun to spread."
William heard a pause, a sigh.
"And, while I sent an engineer down to try and seal it I'm afraid that she was unable to completely seal off the energy flow to the nacelle..."
William had to act and quickly. "Helm all stop, signal Lt.Luthar I want him in his bird and outside right now for a visual look." If the information he was given was correct then this thing fed on power, grew upon it.
=^= Hood to Engineering, I'd like you to begin sectional shut down of power in local areas, I'm aware you cant shut off the energy flow but we can slow it down by reducing available power to feed off of.=^=
The duty Security Officer on the Bridge reported phaser fire below decks. He was just about to signal Commander Reign for an update when Doctor Patrovski's notification that he'd sealed off 3 entire decks came through as well. =^= Hood to Doctor Patrovski, report. =^=
Xavier was busy treating Lt Beckett at the time of the Commodore's call. "Sir, what ever that thing is has penetrated deeper into the ship, one life lost, Lt Beckett was injured but I am treating her in isolation as we speak. I am still running tests but so far I am unable to determine much without resuming my studies on the samples brought over from the Civic.
"Doctor, this thing killed the entire crew of the Civic, I will not have the same done to the Dreadnought." William spoke with steel in his voice.
"I will resume my work on the sample the instant I treat Lt. Beckett sir." Xavier spoke with a wry face, it was assuming he could find a way to stop it.
=^= Commander Reign, secure my ship. Colonel Frost, I want you to deploy the marines to assist security personnel. =^= William refused to go down without a fight and while he was a realistic man, knowing not every battle could be won, he knew that if he did his best then that was all he could ask any of his crew to do.
William stepped up to his chair and activated shipwide communications. =^= All hands this is the Captain. An unknown organism has infected the ship, it is extremely dangerous and hostile. All civilians are to return home. We know this organism feeds on power, so use emergency rations instead of the replicator and wrist lamps for light. If at any time you hear or see anything strange such as blue vine like growths or anything out of the norm, contact the Security Office for assistance. Do not attempt to combat it yourselves, seal yourselves away for safety. Security and Marine forces are currently being deployed throughout the ship, stay in doors, do not roam the halls. =^=
