Charlie had a short stint as Chief of Security, very short but she didn't mind. She was on a new class ship so she decided it was time to see the rest of the ship. As she walked around, she spied two people kissing in a corner. She laughed to herself, "Like nobody sees them." She wasn't on duty so she ignored them but as soon as they saw her looking, they split up, both going into different directions.

She thought about people who found love like BJ. She found the love of her life. She almost felt a little envious of her and her doctor friend...almost. Although she wanted a relationship like the one she had before, she wasn't quite ready to get married again. Maybe it was a bit of fear that was holding her back.

Charlie was trying to remember the last time she had seen Kyle. Maybe unconsciously she was afraid to get close again. She felt bad that she hadn't gotten together with him. She needed to get out of her head, that's all.

She found the mess hall and got some food. One thing she enjoyed was watching and observing people. There were plenty of people. She sat down. She could tell things about a person by their body language. One looked closed off and not invested in the conversation that was taking place. Another one kept shifting uncomfortably in her seat. And another female was way too loud and giddy, almost fake. Two more people walked in and Charlie sighed. It was that couple she saw in the corridor. She quickly finished her meal and left.

Charlie missed the Dreadnought. She had to leave a few things behind, nothing important. Mostly, she knew what her duties were there but here, she wasn't sure. A lot of the security department was temporarily reassigned. And she hadn't seen BJ since they changed ships.

Charlie decided to go back to her quarters, freshened up and see what's happening in Security.
