Mission:
The Emerald Road
Location: Marine Commanders Office
Timeline: Just after Marks of Distinction
Jack stood in his office pondering on how he would explain to Acacia how he'd managed to not only mistake her bag but also accidentally open said bag and see how most private of clothing. Even though they had spent time together he doub't she'd want him rummaging around in her bag of personal effects. He zipped up her bag and pushed it under his desk out of view as he wondered how he'd explain this 'invasion' of her privacy to her.
"Lieutenant Colonel Frost is currently in the Marine Command Office. "
"Is the Colonel currently occupied?" she asked as she gazed at the soft green shirt that he'd packed- the undershirt for his uniform she guessed. Glancing around her quarters she noticed that nothing had been beamed in while she showered- which meant she had this or nothing.
"Negative- the Colonel is alone in his office presently and his schedule shows no meetings."
Jack sat down in his chair as he began to type a message to Acacia, he didn't want to talk it in case he was heard especially considering the sensitive topic of the conversation, unaware that Acacia was already taking meeting plans into her own hands.
Acacia slipped the shirt on over her head and then found the pair of shorts she'd left on the bed when she'd changed to a uniform. She supposed she could have worn the old shirt too, but it had something spilled on it and she abhorred being dirty. It smelled like his aftershave and she bit her lip briefly hoping he wasn't upset to see her in his shirt. She walked bag in hand to the listing that the computer had for the Marine Command Office- and was stopped by an assistant of some sort. "Can I help you- um.." she was clearly looking for a rank.
"Lieutenant Thomas. I need to speak to Colonel Frost."
"Colonel Frost is very busy at the moment. Much too busy for...well..." the assistant dismissed her with a look, and Acacias eyes burned with rage, as she straightened her back- well aware of what the woman was implying.
Jack heard the altercation outside and walked out to see what was going on half expecting some grumpy assed marine complaining about being assigned to the ship. "Whats going on... Acacia." Jack spoke with surprise in his voice. "I'm glad you are here, I need to talk to you." He stepped aside to let her in to his office seeing her wearing a familiar looking green shirt.
Acacia cast a withering look at his assistant and then raised her stormy eyes to meet his. "I'm glad you have time for me." Her words were chosen to jab at the assistant, as she preceded him into the room.
Jack followed her in and walked round to his side of the desk. "I think we have each others bag, though I have to say green does look rather fetching on you." His eyes gave her a head to toe gleam and a smile to boot.
"Wouldn't have been my first choice of color scheme but i admit its growing on me. " her eyes gleamed back at him and she decided to tease him a bit. "I don't know if i should be relieved to see you not wearing my clothing, or disappointed."
"Oh...for that..." Jack opened her bag and pulled out her bra. "I'm keeping this." He slotted it into his drawer. "Anything else you want to risk losing?" The smile on his obvious and broad and he saw a hint of bruise. "I hope I didn't hurt you too much?"
Slowly she approached him, wickedness in her eyes. She pressed herself flush to his body, and twined her arms around his neck. Acacia's kiss was needy and demanding, and only she broke away to breathe in his ear "I did think about coming here naked."
Jack reached up and embraced her, his hand riding up her back till it tangled in her hair and pulled it firmly tilting her head back. It exposed her neck that he kissed and nipped at just as he had done that night. "Might have had a problem if you had, there are scores of marines out there that would want a piece of you." His grip firm, his hold strong as if to prevent her from escaping.
Her lips parted in a gasp but she bit down on her lip hard before more than a tiny mewling sound escaped her lips. All thoughts, all replies gone from her head as her focus narrowed to Him and his commanding presence. Her hair, still wet from her shower began to dampen the cuff of his uniform.
Jack did as he pleased to her in the heat of the moment but this was far from the time nor place for it. "Tell me, where are you quartered?" He remembered she had mentioned some quarters but not exactly where. His gaze hard into her eyes, almost cold like steel as that side of him she had seen started to seep to the surface again.
Opening glazed, halflidded eyes she realized that he'd asked her a question and that she had not heard it. That look in his eyes made her whimper quietly again, in both desire and distress as she realized she couldn't answer him and he was expecting one.
"Deck 7. Section 2. Cabin 18." That was where his quarters were, the large spacious variety as senior staff get. "Go there." That was where she would be staying, Acacia opened this can of Jack, now she had to deal with it to its conclusion.
"Deck 7, Section 2, Cabin 18" she repeated softly, her eyes flickering from him to her bag on the floor and then back again. She was wondering if she could take her bag to her own quarters, but didn't at this moment know how to ask. He was thoroughly- 100% in charge at the moment.
Jack released her and looked at the girl before him. "Here." He pulled her bag across the desk next to her. "You might need this." Jack realized she probably did, considering what he found within it, no doubt not had time to replicate more clothing.
She reached up and silently caressed his cheek, before slinging the bag over her shoulder. His she placed in the spot where hers had rested. Finding her voice finally she whispered "Thank you."
"Ignore the assistant. Just grumpy because l gave them a stack a work to do." Knowing that Acacia would have to pass the assistant again when she left.
Acacia nodded, and then straightened herself back to the fiery, confident woman that had initially walked into his office. Her fingertips slid down his arm and over the gloves, before she licked dry lips and left the office to let the door close behind her. Ignoring the assistant as he'd instructed, she swung by her quarters to drop off the duffle bag and went to the cabin he'd indicated for her to go to. Briefly she contemplated what wonders would await her there.
Jack didn't have much time for anything beyond the utter essentials at his temporary new home aside from the basics like towels, some clothing and some comfy 'around the home' footwear. He watched Acacia leave and yet at the same time was saddened by her departure. Acacia was some woman he was sure of that, outgoing socially and sexually, wild, adventurous and not afraid to show how she felt. Which to Jack was refreshing and welcome.
Acacia hadn't bothered with any footwear having just come out of the shower. Shed walked to and from the Marine center barefoot, her toes painted the same lavender/silver that her fingers were. She settled down in a chair and began to read the PADD that shed brought with her. She figured that he had a number of things to do and if she finished with the articles she needed to read she could make them dessert.
Jack wrapped up the last few things and walked out of his office, he had handed them to his assistant then briefed her as to the circumstances that lead to Acacia's presence in the condition she was in. Jack made it clear it was not open for debate and headed to his quarters where he'd make it more homely.
By the time that he arrived in his quarters, Acacia was spread out on his couch. One long shapely leg crossed over the other at the ankle as she read her Journal.
Jack walked in and was not surprised to see Acacia there since he'd approved the computer to allow her entry. His pace slowed to a stop. "Well hello there." A grin on his face as he unzipped his tunic. "All comfortable I see, a drink for the lady perhaps?" He played.
"Mmm, surprise me." She answered her eyes warming as she looked up into his face.
Jack walked to the replicator and fixed up two drinks, sadly synthahol but something was better than nothing given they had just arrived on board. "Here you are." He offered her the glass. "Something smooth and slightly sweet." He then sat on the sofa next to her. "I hope my assistant didn't give you too much trouble."
"Nothing I cant handle or haven't heard before." Her smile was gentle when she saved her place in her Journal and snuggled up with him on the couch.
Jack settled and slipped his arm around her. "You know, considering what we did a few days ago we have not really spoken much, aside from the shuttle ride here. So begs the question, what is all this to you?" Was it a fling? Something to sate the need of the moment without the commitment of a relationship? Or was there more to this that perhaps he was unaware of?
"I would love to ask you the same." she replied softly as uncertainty crept into her bright blue eyes. She was used to being discarded as the ships left the array- so too did the men leave her life. It was rare that someone was interested in anything more, and even more rare that she was so...attached to someone so quickly. "It could very easily be much more..." her voice was whisper soft as if she was afraid to even admit that.
Jack could hear the tone of voice, the thrall of disappointment, the hint of hurt and the seasoning of betrayal. "If its a sore topic, I can change it."
"No. It's fine." came the answer after a moment. "I don't want to be just a fling..."
Not wanting a fling Jack could understand, he wasn't the fling type but at the same time he didn't want to rush her. Part of him told him that she wouldn't mind a bit of stability when it comes to partners but the other part of him wondered if he'd be too much, too demanding, rough or the like with her to make her reconsider. "I see." He could understand her meaning though.
She heaved a sigh and then hid her face against his chest and continued to speak "Most of my relationships end when the ship leaves the array. I was anticipating that with you too, but...no one has ever left me wanting the way you have. " That was rather an understatement on her part but she quietly continued "If I was being truly honest in my words- I would say that I don't just want to be a fling...for you."
"I'd say maybe the previous men were intimidated by you, I was not gentle with you and you took it all, bruises and marks an' all. Some men just want the gentle lay annnnd some just the once, how often did we go at it?" Jack spoke to reassure her, maybe it was not her but the men at fault.
"Variety is the spice of life" came the quiet reply from the face hidden in his jacket, there was the hint of a chuckle in her words however. "I'd wager you'll never be satisfied with just the once."
"I didn't hear you complaining." Jack mused, though she was perhaps right after what they got up to a few days ago. "Wasn't too much was it?" He asked wondering if he went a bit overboard with the opportunity.
Fingers coming up to caress the bite mark, she laughed softly; a sound of pure delight. Delight that was matched by the shining look in her eyes when she finally raised her gaze from his jacket. "Only if it was like that every night."
"Sure ticket to Sickbay there." Jack joked. "Can you imagine trying to explain to Doctor Patrovski why you can't sit down or why Im walking funny? Or what about Commander Reign, she'd think you'd been assaulted."
Laughter answered him again and she snuggled in closer to him once more. "I can't imagine that explaining that would be fun. I can see it now, trying to explain that to Commander Yashui?"
"Hmm yeah, she doesn't seem to be the one to take that kind of thing lightly." Jack spoke as he held her close. "Mind you, would be interesting to see the look on her face when she reads the medical report."
Acacia snorted outright "I'd pay to be a fly on the wall for that. But it would never get that far, because I would explain. It would never get past Dr. Patrovski asking what the hell happened to me and me winking at him. " Her fingers stroked down the center of his chest gently over his abdomen and then back up.
"Would be interesting to be on that wall huh." Jack smiled thinking about it. "Are you hungry at all?"
"You'd get some serious street credit with the medical staff to be sure..." she giggled and then shook her head "I should eat- but Im not really hungry."
"Jack Frost, Tough as nails, killer of foes, destroyer of women." He joked. "Oh yes, I can see that going down like a lead weight."
"I don't know if you'd destroy me or make me stronger, but in either case I am not sure I want to find out. Im not sure I have the wherewithall to keep up with you if you did that. Besides sometimes even I get in the mood for a bit of softness." Her smile was clear in the tone of her voice as she sipped her drink which she'd ignored until now.
"Softness." Jack mused as if the notion of him being soft was an alien or foreign concept to him. "I've been known to have my moments."
She didn't know it yet but they would have softness as well as passion, and she would show him just how it was to have love pure and elemental pass between two people. They would learn together, and it would be astounding. "I promise I won't tell, but I won't promise not to enjoy it if you do.."
"Sounds like a deal." Jack spoke as he moved to stand. "Come on, lets grab something to eat even if its light."
She followed him to the replicator and punched in something simple, chicken strips, honey mustard and waffle fries. It was a delightful combination that she'd picked up on earth's north american continent. Foods were different all over Earth and she was fascinated by the variety and diversity of it.
Jack looked at what shes ordered, simple, light and straight forward. Hard to argue with a menu like that. He ordered the same and took the playe from the replicator. "Table or sofa?"
"Table. Nothing worse than crumbs in a bed or sofa when you're trying to lay on it" she muttered, inadvertently sharing a pet peeve of hers.
"The same go for the girls?" A nod of the head to her chest, boob pillows, fun bags or the lady preference...crumb catchers.
She snorted and then raised her eyebrows at him "If you plan to eat off them, you best be sure they are exquisitely clean when you're done."
That raised his eye brows. "Oh done deal....not a problem." That raised his cheery playfulness a level or two.
A snicker escaped her, mostly at the expression of enthusiasm on his face. The man was insatiable, and she found that she'd laughed more in the past week with him than she had in the past year on the array. She'd missed it.
