The Emerald Road
Location: Hanger Bay

"Ok listen up." Zan spoke as he glanced the simulation brief in his hand before relaying it to the other pilots. "Orders are to establish a CAP of the ship, close formation flying and routine flying....should be a welcome break to clock up the hours to keep your wings."
A few chuckles could be heard but it died down. "Standard formation on exit, split to five flights of two. Make sure to link weapons control systems to the Indefatigable and establish sensor links too, they have the better sensors so lets make use of them for early warning. Any questions so far?"
"Yeah." One pilot spoke up. "What's the loadout going to be for this little display?"
"Standard flight loadout, if we need to change the homeship's sensors will give us plenty of warning, we do not expect a confrontation but until we know more of what we could be facing the standard loadout will have to do. Techs will be on standby for combat refits so if you need to swap out then watch your spacing and for god's sake watch your struts. I don't want anyone landing on ordinance."
"So what exactly are we doing, aside from showing off essentially." Another spoke, it was not often he spoke but when he did he was the sort to listen, be heard and then swiftly answered.
"For the time being exactly that, considering what what happened last mission I want to make sure we keep our edge, last mission took a toll but we have to shake that off and get back in the saddle." Zan answered, at least as best he could. There seemed to be no more questions for the time being. "Alright, we dust in 10, get to your ships and begin pre-launch."
Everyone broke up at that point and headed to prep, but one walked up to him as he was bent into the cockpit of his craft. "So...whats the deal?"
Zan straightened up. "What do you mean, deal with what?"
"How have you not married that marine yet, Amanda?" The only female pilot asked as she climbed into the back for weapons and electronics.
Zan smiled. "What's the rush, we have our jobs, besides I'm not exactly flavour of the month with the marines atm for stealing her."
"Well, you better marry her or Im going to steal her because I think shes incredibly hot."
"I don't think shes into the ladies hun and besides, I think she likes what she gets from me." Zan boasted looking over his shoulder.
"You hound, seriously." She swatted him on the arm. "I'm serious, marry her Zan"
"We are um....taking it as it comes." Zan answered thoughtfully.
"She's a Marine, pretty sure she can handle herself." Zan replied with a smile.
"Oh I wasnt talking about her, I meant handling you.." She smiled then with a friendly hold on his forearm she strapped in to her seat.
