Much Ado About Nothing.

Location: Main Engineering

James was deep in thought about the latest readings his diagnostics were sending his way. The ship was running fine but no engineer ever settled for fine and a Chief Engineer had to have the ship running to his standards. A Prometheus class was unique in that the MVAM ability added a few twists to the norm but it was a welcome change. As time went on though thoughts of Kelly and Tiff drifted in, he was lucky to have Kelly, she was out of this world and then some and Tiff, she made Kelly happy and to him that was important.

James had to admit to himself that he was lucky, Kelly and Tiff, sharing them both and them each other. Like a triangle of passion and James enjoyed it.

"Take this to the maintenance section. They will need to get things ready for an EPS check after the modifications to the engines I plan to do." James spoke, said modifications were just to squeeze that little bit extra out of them, a performance tweek.

He'd never brought it up but the thought entered his mind about asking Kelly out. As in a relationship. Tiff seemed to just go with what ever but wondered how that would effect things between her and Kelly, he'd obviously have to speak to Kelly about it and he knew that but he didn't know what she'd say or....if she'd pick Tiff over him.

Bummer as that would be but it was a risk when ever two became three. Only way to find out for sure would be to ask, at least then informed choices could be made. There was also the risk that just by him asking or implying that it would ruin things for him, but everyone involved was mature adults so it should be ok to talk about.

It did make him wonder what Kelly had planned for tonight, if she was busy or she was free for dinner. He wondered if he should invite Tiffany since Kelly enjoyed her company so much last time they were together.

James walked to his console and typed out a message to Kelly.

Kelly it's James, wondered if you were free for dinner tonight? Can invite Tiff if you fancy it?

If you are busy its ok, we can rain check it if you like.

With that done all he had to do was wait, in the mean time he would do a few checks of his own, the rounds of the department to make sure people are doing what they are supposed to.
