Mission: New Faces and Terror Beyond
Location: Home

Zan had spent the better part of just over an hour packing the things from his old quarters into the new shared one. Opting to give Amanda the larger storage spaces for her clothes and gear and that he had very little himself he hoped she wouldn't mind. It was not that he was trying to direct or control what she did but simply afford her as much leeway as he could considering her duties and requirements.

As time drew on though his hunger reminded of it's presence and demanded attention. He was not sure when Amanda would be back not quiet feeling in a position to just ask away about her job so made something light for himself until Amanda returned and shared or wanted something larger.

The whole engaged gig though had not quiet settled in yet, it had happened, she had said yes but sooner or later it would hit him and sink in.

She came into the shared quarters, "Hiyas!" She let ring out as she moved into the bedroom to unload the duffels bags she was carrying. Two at once. One on her back and the other on her front. "Make me what ever you're having!" She had noticed Zan there already.

She let one fall off of her onto the bed and the one on the back to the floor behind her. Slipping off her uniform jacket and tossing it on the bed next to the duffel bag on the bed. She grabbed the duffel bag on the bed and unlatched it to get to the clothing inside. Seeing his stuff already in place and the loins share of space for her stuff. She unpacked placing stuff that needed to go into drawers and hung up her uniforms. Placing her boots on her side of the closet where they could be found quickly.

Zan couldn't answer with a mouthful so just nodded, even if it went unnoticed. He made some more and placed it on a plate then onto the table for her.

He poured a drink while she was in the other room and he resumed eating. He wondered that she was probably used to sharing a room with people being a marine and all. He'd not shared a room since his Academy days so this was a new area for him. "How was the day?" He asked after swallowing.

"Just busting in the new troops," Amanda called back as she entered the common area, wearing Marine workout shorts and tank top. "Easy day." She sat across from him and began to eat. In between bites of food, "Anything new on the flight deck?"

"Acclimatisation to the new craft mostly." Zan replied. "New craft means new protacols, new weapons load outs which means new flight envolopes we need to get used to. Which we can't really do until we actually get out there in them." Zan replied. "I'm planning to book a Holodeck for the pilots to get a feel for these things with the new simulations 'Flight' gave us."

Amanda listened to him speak as she settled at the table in front of her meal. "Mmmmm, smells good." She took a tentative taste and smiled as she continued to eat. "At least it something fresh to look forward tro. Instead of the old drills to get the new comers meshed in with ship's vets." She smiled. "There are 4 ways of doing thing. 1, the right way. 2, the wrong way. 3, Marine way. 4th, Dreadnought Marine way. And they all conflict with each other and it's amazing that the objective is met at all." She took another bite, and mumbled through the mouthful, "fif is gud!"

"So where do I fit in in the ways of doing things?" Zan joked as he held his glass ready to take a sip once he'd finished speaking.

"Keep the bed warm?" Looks up at him with a small smile of mischievousness in it. "Sama as always..." She was floundering as she was in the same boat. So used to being on her own. Coming home to an empty room. "One day at a time?"

"One day at a time." Zan winking. "Would you like some more?" Drink or food, he didn't mind as there was more to be had.

"I'm fine." Amanda smiled after cleaning up after eating. "Need to finish up some paper work for tomorrow. This way I can plan tomorrows training schedule out for the troops to brush up on." She stood up and replaced the chair. Cleaned up after herself in disposing of the used dishes. She got herself a light alcoholic drink to relax her while she previewed the day's results.
