Mission:
What Stalks The Night
Location: Quarters
Timeline: 12 hrs after Blinded by the Light
Tripping on her way in the door Acacia had to pinwheel and grab the wall to stay upright. Given her sheer exhaustion she was almost surprised that she'd made it to the quarters she shared with Jack. It was only her hand on the wall of the corridor that had saved her from a similar plight a few times in the walk from the hosptial deck.
Stripping off one article after another, she threw the bloody uniform into the recycler and tucked her boots in the cleaning box. They were caked with blood and other body fluids, as well as medications spilled on the floor by a clumsy tech setting up her surgical room. She'd barked a the poor girl, and sent her scrambling to replace what she'd spilled. Tempers did tend to run high sometimes, when peoples lives were at stake and care could be delayed because of such an accident. She would make a note to apologize later to the girl, who was probably seeing her first MCI.
She sat down on the little tile bench and began to wash, top to bottom. Starting with the bottoms of her feet, so she wouldn't have to bend over towards the end of the shower when she'd be not only exhausted but also relaxed.
Soap bubbles were whisked away by the water, leaving trails of rainbow residue on Acacia's skin and swirled around the drain. It was high time that she finish up so that she could go to bed. Washing her hair with a color clarifying shampoo that smelled like citrus. Delicious.
Acacia's eyelids were getting harder and harder to open each time she blinked, especially with the siren song of the hot water. Its relaxation abilities were second only to the talented hands of her lover. She jerked awake, when her foot slipped a little on the tiles and she laughed at herself. "Definitely time for bed. Until the next emergency."
Eyes definitely felt heavy. Actually everything felt heavy and every step seemed to drag on as she dried herself on the way to the bed. She sat on the edge of the bed, and the towel fell from nerveless fingers onto the floor. It took all of her remaining energy to climb into bed and not just flop over. Pulling the pillow which smelled of Jack's cologne in to her chest...she sighed once deeply and was instantly asleep.
